Right on, samples look good. Does anyone know if there are supposed to be vertical seals running down the sides as well?

Thanks again Jason:beer:

and X2 on you tackling the bug catcher weather strip next!!

Anyone have a decent original? I have some pretty rough pieces in two separate tops. Will have to look at them to see if they would be good enought to use as a guide. Also not sure if they are original.

The seals are in! I will send PM's to all those who were interested. Once I receive payment via paypal, I'll ship. I will be out of town from 4/17 through 4/20 so any payments received during that time won't be shipped until 4/21 or 4/22. Otherwise, I should be able to ship the next business day after receiving payment.

Thanks for your patience!

I forgot to mention that most of you were interested in one (30') order. There were a couple that wanted two orders. If you want to order more, please touch base with me to make sure I have enough left before paying for extra orders. Thanks!

Some seals have been sent out. Hopefully some of you will be able to post some pictures of a restored bi-fold with the new seals. I Just have the short sample pieces in my door for now.

On another subject, there has been some discussion on the wing window seals. I noticed that Cruiserparts.net lists an early wing window seal reproduction for $100. Has anyone tried these or verified that they will fit the early wings?

I got mine too. I just got home from CM and once the cruiser was cleaned out I put in the bottom piece. It' looks real nice. Thanks!

I'll snap a pic once i get the other 3 pieces in.

Thanks Jason, got mine, if no one else posts up a picture I'll slide some into the rust bucket this weekend for you.

Guys and Gals, I got some feedback on the seals. It appears that the new seals may leave a gap between the top of the door and the hardtop. I have not tested the seal on my doors yet (my red '64 door is disassembled), but I plan on installing them on my newly acquired '66 (green) over the weekend. I'll post some pics and a write-up after I'm done.

Let me know if you have installed the seals and have a problem with the top seal having a gap. I have some non-OEM ideas to how to address the issue, but ultimately we'll want it to be OEM configuration.

Thanks,

Jason

got mine in on the door for a top that i will someday refurb:rolleyes:, but took some pics on an assembled top since it was easy to install, also, so i could see just what it lookslike when it actually seals to the lower half doors;)

for installation, install one end a few inches in and slide it to the outer edge, then push the far side all the way onto the bend edge. this will allow plenty of room to feed the close side on. i did the test fit and the first strip by hand, but, when my thumbs got sore, i grabbed a dull flathead screwdrive and pushed right where the gap is diagonally down and it popped right into place. when you get close to the other end, stop and put the end into place, then slide it down and finish the gap.

definitely looks awesome!!

you can see on the bottom that i ran the w/s a little longer to cover the gap where the hardtop bows out for the track. middle sections look like that would be pointless. i just cut the lower section off of the area that it would stick out on.

you can see what i got out of the old door as far as w/s goes. pretty sad. when the door is opened flat, the weatherstrip forces it to a 'v' shape, so it will have to be latched which will break in the w/s, this tells me the center section will be a good fit. don't have the top assembled, so i can't comment on the top fit.
