So I’ve had 2 sidewall disintegration’s in the last 2 weeks with my 10 year old BFG Mud terrain tires. The original KM’s are no longer available. Super bummed because I like the old school look for this 45.

Anyone have a good alternative to these for a retro look? The KM2 and KM3 look nothing like the old originals.

What’s everyone using?

Need 33x10.5R15

Thanks!

Dom

I bought city racer’s 16” steelies, opened up a lot of options for tires if it’s in your budget to buy new wheels. I went with the Yokohama Geolandars based on several other recommendations on mud and I’m pretty happy with the look and ride on the streets. My LV isn’t an off road machine at this point in its life so I can’t comment on that part. Some pics in this thread below. I couldn’t really find much of anything in 15” tires before I made the switch.

If you do swap to 16’s you can run Commercial Traction T/As from BFG. I ran them on my Rover and Tacoma. It’s old school looking and somewhere between an A/T & M/T tire.

Do ya have a few pics of those “chunkmeisters ?”

Thanks for all the replies.

If I could get the original KMs in 16” I would buy the wheels in a snap. But since I have to get something I’m not exactly pumped on either way I may just go with the 15” KM3’s. Too bad there aren’t a lot of options for old school mud treads anymore no matter what size wheel.

Good looking rigs.

Buckshot Qs. Just buy a set of sound cancelers at the same time. They're old school and 33 x 9.50s.

Air those babies down and with open diffs, you can go most anywhere and not shatter your birfields.

Gee... Ask me how I know...

Toyo Open Country MT are pretty close and they have that size.

The Falken wildpeak is also similar but don’t have that size.

Thanks for all the input. I just went ahead with the BFG MT KM3’s in 33x10.5 15. They really aren’t the old lug look of the KM’s I wanted but they will do.

At least it’s back on the road...

Those look awesome. Given the dearth of 15” options I’d say you made a great choice. I like the black steelies too!

there’s someone that makes the acorn hubcaps and sells on eBay still I think If you wanted to go that route.
