I’ve got a Hamilton unit, but I’ve honestly never used the aux or factory usb A that’s in the center panel next to the shifter. I’m also running my Hamilton through factory Bluetooth instead of using the aux method in one of their various set up methods - this supposedly helps with phone calls with the oem mic and reduces a background echo.

The factory usb is too slow of a charger. I’m also not a fan of having cords everywhere, so I went with a mag bak Qi charger from Off Roam that mounts to the center vents.

Plus if the new USB C’s were pointing up, it’d be a crumb and dust pit…
All that aside - would it be possible to wire the usb c the way you did but put it in the factory spot?

Is your factory aux/usb a a “dead” plug after the Hamilton unit was installed?

you and your banana will be a lot happier
This only works as long as banana doesn’t go off half cocked… I’ve heard that’s a big no no but I’ve personally never had it happen.

Wouldn't it just make more sense to run power through the plug-in source right next to the charging pad? Just avoid disrupting the Hamilton altogether?

That’s what I don’t understand completely.

I’m under the impression the Hamilton unit has you drop the USB A in the in the compartment where the wireless charging pad is.

The website also states that you lose function of the Aux/USB C port so I’m assuming it is just a dead plug after installing the Hamilton unit.

Rather than have a worthless plug, I’d like add a dual USB A plugs in that spot and I’m trying to figure out where to pull power from.

Hopefully that all makes sense.

The OEM AUX and USB stay put with the Hamilton install and can be used with the factory UI on the infotainment system. When switching over to the Hamilton UI, the AUX and USB can’t be used for the original OEM purpose - aside from a slow charger via the USB A.

Got it. Thank you very much.

I’ll wire it to the cigarette lighter as someone else suggested.

Can the USB used for wired carplay? I hate wireless carplay.

Are the front seat headrests in the 200 Series fully removable? If I recall correctly, I couldn’t get them out the last time I tried.

I would like to purchase a set of these to help my boys get in and out.

Yes. Extend out all the way, then remove the side with the button, and then turn toward the back seat and lift out.

So.. found some wind deflectors that I wanted for car camping in the back of the cruiser. Something to let me crack a couple windows without letting in the rain. I can highly recommend Auto Clover wind deflectors if you're in the Uk or can get them. Sleek, perfectly matched to the contours, not aggressively ugly and honestly a really good experience... cheap, good looking, effective.

I installed the OEM Japanese ones and they are AMAZING. One of my favorite upgrades (but over $100)

Do they mount inside the channel that the glass slides in? Or only on the outside?

Anything in the channel should be a DQ due to the extra load that method places on the window regulator.
