Do y'all have any recommendations on a phone holder for a 16+ LX?
Eventually gonna get a hamilton but need something for now.

also need to bump up the height of these cupholders. the idiot designer who put a giant hand rest should be beaten.
ProclipUSA makes them...though console mounts only. They have additional mounts for LCs that go under the upper vents which I use on both sides (one for my phone and one for a mic holder) that, unfortunately, won't work for you. 2016 Lexus LX Series Dashboard Phone Mounts | ProClip USA - https://www.proclipusa.com/collections/dashboard-mounts-lexus-lx-series-2016?finder=true&finder_id=f_1782298256423_9160jf

I actually prefer the OffRoam ones, especially after seeing them on a buddy's RAM, but they weren't available when I needed a mount and I've had years of success with ProClip across multiple vehicles.

I know it’s been said, but I picked up a replacement cupholder from @coloradolx and it’s great. I used a plastic welder and some sticky pad things to modify it a little, and now it accommodates a coffee mug too.

Door Striker step - works surprisingly well!

Rightline Gear Moki Ascent - little fold up step that latches onto your door striker. For about $40. Impulse purchase when checking out of RackAttack yesterday. Fits well, stable, and great little addition. Bought two so can have one person at front door and another at rear at same time putting bulky stuff onto rack.

That is a huge tension load on thin sheet metal that’s not designed for it. FYI.

I was concerned about this too, but no perceptible flex when weight applied. I believe there is some reasonably stout structure behind the sheet metal under door striker plates into which the striker plates thread. Even its just a simple doubler plate, that added surface area would make this very hard to deform.

@uzj100 has a point. No fat people using this step!

I have a similar step that I got off Amazon some years back. Only used it once or twice, but absolutely no deformation from my ~220lb weight on it. I did check when I used it.

Great idea until you forget you used and slam the door on it. I’m sure it would take no time for me to do this!

I bought this and the center console cover. I think they’re great. Nice uniform color and fit. Especially for those of us that have dinged up center consoles.

That center console cover looks nice. How does it secure to the console? I don't see any straps or anything. Does it just sit on top? Seems like if you open you center console it would fall off.

It’s a secure fit that just slips over the arm rest. No straps and hasn’t slipped off yet.

2nd Row Cupholder Solution

Have spent an inordinate amount of time experimenting with cupholder solutions for rear passengers, specifically two hungry teens in the backseat who are frequently in possession of greasy fast food containers and large fountain drinks. Needless to say, the entire middle armrest with fragile built-in cupholders is covered for the former reason, and the cup holders that attach to the front head rest are dangerous for the latter reason— the ones I initially purchased seemed to collapse under significant weight, and would also rather have something spill at floor level than eye level. Anyway, here’s what I finally settled on, which crunches perfectly between the center console and the bottom of the second row, even has a tab to tuck under the floor mat to make it slightly more secure. Also easily removable for the occasional middle seat passenger.

This looks neat. We’re still in the car seat stage and they have killer cup holders… I need to start thinking ahead.
