I thought you were buying a red one in Seattle? Had the guy hold it for a month or so didn't you?

No, Rob was not 'holding' it for me. I did talk to Rob about it on a number of occasions. Checked it out with Mudrak - who knows the vehicle. Was very interested - its a very nice truck. If I had not found this one, I would have bought from Rob.

Was never my intent to cause Rob any issues, but buying a used truck from a long distance is difficult. Hopefully, I will make the right choice. Jarrod's truck is newer, has less mileage, and is already pretty well set up.

Congrats. I went and test drove this exact vehicle. Make sure you ask Jarrod about what it needs before you leave. Here are my notes from looking at it.

interior cleaning its been used but not ruined
remove redwood interior accents
check arb compressor and gauge for leaks
relocate air tank from underneath driverside frame rail to fit sliders
Fix fuel sender from auxillary tank (doesn't work)
Fix driverside roof damage. 8" dent on roof
Fix bubbling window tint.

Thanks, Bull. Deal is contingent on inspection and acceptance. A fellow MUD guy checked the truck for me and gave a very positive report. I always expect to do some work on a truck when I buy it. Know about the body issues. Tint is comin' off, I hate the sh*t. If it isn't right enough, I won't buy it.

Any case, I'l know next week.

Hanna is closer -- Unless you drive down to pick them up, I don't know if the shipping cost would be much different.

I have slee's older tube slider on mine and love it.
I have slee's step slider on the wifes-- she loves hers.

if you want something that's more "user" friendly, go for the step sliders. If you don't care...any of the 3 are good options.

So far, everyone I've spoken with or traded emails/posts with who has built their own 80 series sliders has said that they'd probably buy slee's or hanna's if they had to do it over again.

if you have sliders you are admitting to a serious lack of skill in your off road driving abilities. i would rather get new doors than to dishonor my rig with sliders, it is an insult to the soul of the machine,

I want to be the one to sell you new doors at a thousand bucks a rattle....;)

For those of you who don't know...

This is typical Miklos.
Who is this Miklos you might ask? He's simply the ONE person you DO NOT want to have as your vehicle's previous owner.

It's a doo hickey is a "nerd" thing. I am yet to understand the need or the purpose. But maybe one day the light bulb will turn on. It could be that i am just not smart enough. The possibilities are endless... no offense, just opinion.

So, Miklos...your rig still for sale?

How many doors does it need?.......:grinpimp:

I couldn't agree more! And Bumpers are for sissies, and spare tires are for idiots who get flat tires, what kind of idiot would get a flat tire??? I've even heard of people carrying two spare tires, What The Heck? Don't get me started on freezer/fridges, they are for wimps who don't have enough control of their GI tract to keep from getting salmonella on a long expedition. Recovery straps and winches are the most ridiculous things I have ever heard of, why would you have those unless your driving abilities don't keep you from getting stuck??? Cargo drawers and barriers and tie down straps are only for those who don't have really thick skulls, otherwise they wouldn't worry about a birfield flying around the interior in an accident and smacking them in the noggin. I can't believe I hang around a forum where everybody is so worried about their vehicles and their noggins! See ya later chumps!!!

Miklos was quite an irritant on 80sCool a few years ago. Seems he craves attention so he trolls for it with absurd posts like this one. In fact, I am 100% certain he stirred up the pot with this exact same topic a while back. He's not even bright enough to pick a new topic.

Who is this Miklos you might ask? Dougie, can you think of any reason he shouldn't be on the twit filter? I've got an opening since FSIMIG cleaned up his act a few months ago.

Dan,
I predict you will rue the day you sell anything to Miklos. Just a hunch.

You don't really need to ask me if he should be filtered do you?

I'm going to just assume that was a rhetorical question...

* yes -- this is specifically why the ignore feature was invented ;)

Mr. Beowolf,

First off sir its Beowulf with a 'U'

I beleive the topic was regarding opinions about sliders, not about opinions about other members.

Only partially correct the topic was what sliders to purchase not if one should purchase sliders.

I am verry sorry you are not mature enough to respect the opinions of others. Please advise what you found absurd about my post?

absurd = the whole :censor: thing.

I do not find it nearly as absurd as your post commenting on my lack of intelligence. Thanks and have a nice day. And by the way, this is not the 80s cool list.

-B- just call them as he see's them sir, and in this case I would say he is spot on so to speak. Your right this is not the 80s cool list, this is IH8MUD please try to repect it, its members, and the highly valuable information which can be gleaned from its content. If you want to ellicit a reaction from anyone of the valued members here take a stroll to chat and many of us will be happy to oblige.

Oh yaa......:flipoff2:
