I sold my 60 a couple weeks ago. I am buying a 1996 FZJ80 with:

ARB front bumper
Lockers
OME suspension
Kaymar rear bumper with tire carrier
50 Gallon fuel tank (Aussie)
OBA piped to front and rear bumpers
No factory roof rack
110K miles

No sliders. What do you guys recommend? Slee? Scolaro, Hanna? Other?

Thanks

FAQ - there's a great section with all sorts of opinions on sliders and more pics than you'd ever want of all the sliders you'd ever be interested in for your new 80.

Hanna or Slee, whoever is closer to you. I like the Hanna cat protection.

Hanna or Slee are the Best. I personnaly like the Slee Step sliders. It's familt friendly and the powercoating material makes it so you won't slip on them when they are wet.

Go to the FAQ and the section about How the accessories look

Hi Mike
I have the Hanna if you would like to see them. Very high quality. You could also see how that tent looks. I came over the pass in a blizzard and really did not notice it up there. Head winds side winds no problem. A little noise in large gust .

I would like to see your rig, and get pictures of the tent. I KNOW that you are going to love it. They really don't have much (if any) forward air resistance. Are you using the stock roof rack rails with your custom cross bars? Or gutter mount?

I am picking up my new truck mid-next week, and will check you when I get back from Seattle.

:flipoff2: Didnt know there was such a thing! I have done quite a bit of research and just ordered a 44 Gallon Aux tank from OZ. In all of my searching, i never seen anything over 44 Gallons. I am curious which brand it is and if it is an AUX tank or a MAIN replacement tank! :flipoff2:

Yup, i hope so!

I thought you were buying a red one in Seattle? Had the guy hold it for a month or so didn't you?

Congrats. I went and test drove this exact vehicle. Make sure you ask Jarrod about what it needs before you leave. Here are my notes from looking at it.

interior cleaning its been used but not ruined
remove redwood interior accents
check arb compressor and gauge for leaks
relocate air tank from underneath driverside frame rail to fit sliders
Fix fuel sender from auxillary tank (doesn't work)
Fix driverside roof damage. 8" dent on roof
Fix bubbling window tint.

The "50 gallon" number probably came from filling it. The neck flapper does not completely block off the main tank when filling the sub and some fuel will end up in the main while the sub is filling, making you think the sub holds more than it really does. My 13 gallon sub regularly takes 14-15 gallons to "fill" it when it only holds a measured 13. In addition, if you fill the sub with the key "on" and watch the main gauge you will see it rise a bit as the sub fills.

I have Hanna sliders for the cat protection. They are very heavy duty. I drove through Carson City and was at Reno yesterday, too bad I didn't read this sooner you could have looked em over. IIRC you are in Carson City, is that right? If you come up to South Shore let me know.

Another vote for Slee step sliders. They really saved me when my wife was pregnant and coming home from the hospital. Also my dad's 80 has older non textured slee sliders and has had several people slip off of them trying to use them as steps. Also the step sliders will protect your finder flares better.

I just ordered a set of the Hannas, they have some very nice and bad ass cat protection!
