That's good- Throw insults instead of taking it as a way to improve your customer service. Good thinking!

Sorry, but I find it a little rude. SOOOORRY that I wanted to order it quickly so that I could receive it and install it. I have a broken leaf spring and didn''t want to drive on it. If you would have gotten back sooner, I probably would have bought from you.

Walmart mentality. What a dumb statement. You don't know me and know how much money I make.

How about just learning from the experience and the fact that by not contacting an interested client, you lost a big sale.

No hard feelings- I just think it's wrong to get pissed at me!

Don't take it so hard, had a similiar experience with Kurt, contacted him to purchase $600 worth of gears for my cruiser, he said he would get back to me and never did, in the end I went with someone else that wanted my business more.

Some vendors do things fast, some don't. Doesn't mean squat because there is always another vendor that will service you. I just prefer to give my business to cruiserheads first.

I know what you mean. I've been trying to purchase a Dakar lift kit going on 10 days. I have emailed inquiries to the two most recomended Land Cruuiser dealers on the IH8MUD forum. One in particular I have emailed and left phone messages every day for the past 7 days. Still can't get someone to give me a total and take my money, and send my lift kit.

I'm trying to give the small businees owner the benefit of the doubt. Figure it's hard to work in the shop and talk and be interupted by phone calls, but the courtesy of returning calls or an email inquiry within a day or two time period would be nice.

I'll give it another couple of days.

I will say I ordered a suspension lift and tires for my Chevy last year from 4 Wheel & Parts. I called Monday afternoon, and a truck delivered it all Wed morning a day and a half later.

no offense, but taking a pot shot on a guy trying to find something for his cruiser ASAP - not very cool. I know you know your stuff re: cruisers, but there is something to be said about admitting a mistake and owning up. We all get busy, leave it at that. making a rude comment just steers other potential customers away.

I am having the same problem I have left 2 ph messages, 1 email, and talked to him on a late Friday he said that he would get back to me on Saturday. That was 2 weeks ago. If it is that hard to order a Dakar lift kit just think how hard it would be if you had a problem. Last year I had no problem with him when I ordered a knuckle rebuild kit, wheel bearings, and a carb. kit.

people keep poking at 4WP, but they havent given any specifics...why would someone get screwed when dealing with them??

Friend went to buy a set of BFG mud terrains, left the truck for them to put them on.

Came back, and they had installed a set of ProCrap s***terrains, flat out lied to him and told him they are practically the same tire just less expensive.

(weaker sidewalls, fast wear=s*** tire). 4WP is in bed with Procomp and pushes that crap really hard.

Kurt is my go-to man for aftermarket parts, every once in awhile I may need to call twice etc, but it is well worth it. Kurt knows his s***, and takes care of his customers, and will suprise you with what he has in stock.
The occassional extra call or trouble is well worth it to speak to a fellow cruiserhead instead of a drone in a cubicle in a large corporate office.

I love this line. I translate it to mean "I have a small penis and am a total tool"

Who said I was pissed?

I was honestly saying sorry. I am a full-time student, I am a full-time competition rock-crawler, I spend 2-3 nights a week working on land use issues, and I run my company to keep food on the table. I appreciate your input, but I don't appreciate people who "were not impressed" becasue I didn't call them back ASAP. I try and call people quickly, but at times it takes a bit... especially when I am out on a club run, service project, etc.

Once again sorry...

I remember your call, I told you I would get back to you when I knew the availability of the Dakar suspensions (which indicates on my website "coming soon"). I am STILL waiting on my vendor to tell me when they are going to be up and available... In the meantime I will remove the Dakar line from my website to prevent the frustration it is creating.

Sorry for the delay... I am a one-person gig this time of year (both of my part-timers are also full-time students - no work during cruch time)

The more I think about all this, the more I really have to wonder what I want to do with Cruiser Outfitters in life.

I simply love Cruisers...

I am 24 and have more things going on in life than I can realistically handle... "dump some" people say. Well sounds great, but what do I dump?

Cruiser Outfitters? I have run this company for the last 3 years, it has been nothing but a blessing, I have fun, have the coolest customers on earth, and it affords me alot of fun wheeling trips and toys for the Cruiser. But, at times it really isn't worth it. When I have 20 voicemails, and I realize that each one of them may end up trashing me on a BB becasue I wasn't able to call them back...

Utah 4 Wheel Drive Association? I am the president, and we do more work to promote responsible wheeling and economy in the state of Utah than most will ever understand. We give thousands of dollars to fund legal battles to keep trails open, sponsor numerous trail cleanups, service projects, trail runs, etc. In addition, we meet regularly with USFS/BLM and government officials to KEEP PUBLIC LAND PUBLIC.... and as much time as it takes weekly (~10-20 hours), I can't see myslef walking away from a chance to change the trend of trail closures in Utah.

School? I am in the end of my Junior year with 7 more classes until I graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering... I think I would lose all faith in myself it I walked away from 5 years of college at this point... Am I wrong?

My girlfreind? I can't imagine walking away from her, she is the one thing in life that keeps me sane for the rest of them... Plus she is already getting the bare minimum from me alot of times...

I think the only plausible solution at this time is to scale-down CruiserOutfitters.com to a minimum inventory and local customers (I love Wasatch Cruisers :D). Thanks to all the loyal customers and to those that are patient with me...

-Kurt

Kurt - I have bought some stuff from you lately and think you're doing a great job man - retail is a demanding business and a lot of people call and bother about parts and such with intentions of buying but never actually seal the deal. I think this is especially true when you add an online component which makes inquires and questions much easier for the customer and much more difficult for the owner.

We have a retail business - I know a little what you're going through - you've got a good thing going, don't get burnt out and let it ruin your life.

Good luck and if you seriously need some inventory and strictly parts shipping help - maybe we can work something out - I got lots of time and lots of room.

Just wanted to let everyone know that you have a lot of very satisfied customers - you may be better off in the long run with a small clientele who understands your schedule rather than a bunch of LA assholes who want everyone to know they think they make a lot of money;)

Kurt has always been a pleasure to deal with. I have only ordered minimal parts, but have used him to answer several questions. He always took the time to make sure I had the answer I needed, and always answered email in a timely fashion.
Good luck to you Kurt, hopefully everything works out the way you want it to.

Thanks again, Hodag

Keep your head up Kurt, you do an awsome job with everything you do.

Kurt:

I can understand your frustration, but I sure hope you keep Cruiser Outfitters going. I bought a full OME suspension kit from you, and I couldn't be happier with the service I received. Like a lot of guys, I prefer to do business with Cruiser specialty shops run by guys who love and drive cruisers. For every knuckle head who doesn't get it, there are at least ten who do. You have built up a loyal following, and I would hate to see you give that up. It would also be a loss to the community if you did.

I had no issues with waiting a few days to hear back from Kurt. I was going to buy one of the last OME suspensions imported for my FJ60.

Then my damn washing machine blew up.

Kurt did a LOT of work getting me information and waiting for my money, and then I had to go buy a new washer. I was MAD that my suspension money ended up getting spent on a washing machine, but kurt was cool- I think that says a lot about his character, enough that he'll get my buisness when I'm ready to try this again.
