1992 Toyota Land Cruiser Poverty Package
1992 80 series Land cruiser Rare Poverty package. I have two land cruisers and I don’t need two of the same vehicle. Im listing this and my collectors edition for sale. I’ll keep whichever doesn’t sell first. I've owned the vehicle for 5/6 years and have used it as my daily the whole time. I bought the vehicle from someone who's grandfather used the vehicle to fossile hunt dinosaur bones in utah. Looked very different when I bought it.
The body is very straight and the panel gaps are perfect for the age & its past use. The passenger rocker does have trail dent which was cause by the PO at some point. The body is rust free except for a small silver dollar size surface rust in corner of the wheel well and spot on the rear hatch near the back glass which is about quarter size.
The poverty pack(age) cruiser consists of the following
Factory - No fender flares
Factory - No sunroof
Factory - Solid bench seat 2nd row seat vs 50/50 2nd row (never seen another in the US with a factory full rear bench seat. Possible another out there.
Factory - No third row seats
Factory - No 3row seat belts
Factory - No rear sliding rear glass (Solid clear rear glass)
Factory - No running boards
Factory - No 2nd row interior steps
Factory - No holes in the rear carpet for 3rd row seats
Factory - Smaller rear mudguards due to no fender flares
Ive seen some vehicles that are “partial poverty” but not common to see true poverty package like this. Color combination of Silver over dark grey tone could use a paint job. The paint is original to the vehicle and the clear coat has mostly faded away except a few spots but it gives it a nice patina look. I get a lot of compliments on the rig as is.
The vehicle has been very reliable & I have driven near and far without it breaking down on me. The kids and my wife love the vehicle but again we can’t keep two. Miles 220k, I bought it at 170k. I haven’t had to much other than change the V-belts, spark plugs, power steering pump. It runs well, does have a check engine light on that’s cause by the EGR error code. I’ve been driving it like that with no issues. I didn’t want to invest much in the engine as I wanted to do an engine swap in the future. Front diff is clicking so it will need a rebuild. I didn’t touch the diff as I was going to swap the diffs with locked ones. But never gave me any issues. Power steering line is leaking along with a few drops by the back of the engine/trans. It’s not perfect but great rare vehicle to build as you want.
Parts I added:
Toyota OEM Japanese domestic market window visors
33x12.5 wild peak tires
15x8 steel wheels zero offset
I have a few additional parts that come with the vehicle that I was intending to install. Will include all the additional parts for the full asking price.
-Grey un-cracked dash
-Rear door glass R/L - correct blue glass. (factory glass is scratched)
-2nd row seats (blue grey) I bought to repair the factory bench seat back to em.
-2nd set of solid clear glass (poverty OEM)
Price 14k - clean California title / will take more photos later this week. Passed smog last time I had to do smog inspection.
Can ship anywhere at buyers expense - Message me to make an appointment to see it.
