Chassis keeps getting closer. The rear shocks caught up with the rest of the lift. Fit is all good

Time to update pictures.
Cab progress. I considered doing the patina thing on the cab floor, but it looks too crappy. I went for sand blasting/iron phosphate washing the bottom and inside floor of the cab. Dash will get cleaned up.

I tried to get a paint formula off of the old codes I found but no luck. There isn't great support for paint in my town. I found a Lucite paint code but it still got me nowhere. We wound up using a scanner and made a color. It looks really good. It is a Valspar urethane enamel.

It's funny the description came up as "light green". It definitely has a green cast even though there is no green tint in it

I got the floor done after work. I forgot to show a picture of the epoxy primer, that was last night. Next up will be more semi gloss black on the firewall and Raptor Liner on the bottom like the bed.

Cool treasures behind the seat.
Poker chips and a 30 carbine case. Good to see my kind of people owned the truck previously

Tonight was painting the firewall with John Deere Blitz Black over the epoxy primer, then spraying Raptor Liner on the bottom of the cab (over epoxy primer).

I threw the pallet in the back of my truck with a fork truck at the shop (easy enough), but my skid steer isn't at home and I needed the cab out and under cover so I was racing darkness, I got it done with the mini excavator. I'm headed to the airport at 4:30 a.m. for Texas. Still have to pack of course. Never a dull moment!
Coming back with a Cruiser so all is great!

That’s a nice 70 Pat. I’m sure she will enjoy it very much.
And I get to drive it when we go out! Whoo hoo!
Lots of changes and maintenance I want to do but it is a driver/project. I am selling the project HZJ-73 that I have now. The "age vs. Time available " dots on my graph of life connect somewhere far beyond the grave with the projects I currently have 🤣

You’re preaching to the choir now brother. 🤷🏻‍♂️🙏🏻

The cab is cleaned up/derusted and ready to back on the chassis- hopefully tomorrow.

There will be some final cleanup/polishing needed but it is looking WAY better

This is the best kind of restoration. What a gem!
Thanks! It is funny that this is the easy way out. To get it perfectly straight and repaint it would be a LOT more time. I wouldn't trade a repaint for the way this patina is coming along even if it were free

Cab is going on!
