Hey All,

Anybody have some good tips on how to apply bedliner without messing up bolt holes? I am going to bedline the inside of my tub (floor only) up to the firewall. I don't want to seal the tranny hump to the floor, but I don't want to fill in the bolt holes with bedliner, either. How do I go about this? My thoughts are to put the bolts in without the tranny hump and then mask them off. I will do the tranny hump separately. Does this sound okay? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

The local shops used rolled masking tape. Since I have lined a number of vehicles, I just used bolts out of my old box of leftovers to fill the hole. Reuse em over and over.

Little wooden tapered plugs work great too. You can find them at Hobby Lobby and stuff. I'm not sure what they are for, apparently some womenfolk have some decorative use for them. Either way, they are great for masking a bolt hole.

Rolled up masking tape works real well too, as does the bolt in the hole method.

ear plugs is a good idea but I used backer rod. It's cheap and can probably get it from an AC guy for free.

Thanks for all the tips. Rolled up masking tape worked fine. I went that route since I had plenty of tape sitting around. I guess I was a little more nervous about it than I should have been. It really wasn't that big of deal. I just didn't want to deal with screwed up bolt holes with bedliner in them.

Thanks again!

I'm a LINE-X dealer. A little late, but.... We use Q-Tips (except for large holes). Cut them in half and put a little bit of grease on the cotton. The grease protects any threads and the bedliner product won't stick to the grease.

Shane (aatlax) here on mud recomended using a roll of foam cut into small pieces and pushed into the holes. he says it works great and it sounds cheap.

I have used Golf Tees with issues. The bedliner or paint will tend to stick onto them and they may become stuck. Also some broke and became tuff to remove. These were NOT huge issues just a bit annoying...

Hey all,

Here are some pics. Sorry, I should have taken some pics before I put everything back in. I was just in a hurry to get this done since I had to do a paint job afterwards and be ready for camping this week. I just got back from camping, so there are pine needles and dirt all over the floor. I haven't had time to clean up. Also, it decided to rain at some point last night, so there is water on the floorboards, too. But you get the idea. Also, the product I used was Herculiner. No complaints so far.

By the way, the Q-tips with grease on them sounds like an awesome idea. The rolled up masking tape worked okay, but a few holes had some bedliner run in them a little. Also, the bedliner stuck to the tape. I guess I should have pulled the tape right after I rolled in the bedliner. Next time... ;)

Anyway, here are the pics:

Okay, since I mentioned camping, how about a few camping pics, also (besides, it shows my new paint job and half doors I just made).

Very Nice. I'm about to spray part of my 60 her within the next month. The question you had asked answered one of mine. Nice Rig my friend.
