awesome! I love the paint scheme!!

Pulled the trigger on this one. so far so good drove an hour to work with no probs.
Cool that both you and Greg are now rockin the "Back to the Future" door graphics!

Great find! Hope it turns out to be a good-running truck

Condition: rebuilt motor, new radiator and lots of new stuff under the hood. New brake calipers, pads etc.
fairly clean for its age. One dent in the front DS panel in front of the bed. One small rust spot. Hubs need rebuilding or replacing with toyota (they are warn). No bad leaks anywhere. AC needs charging.
Runs great. Accelerates good with the tight motor. 500 miles on the rebuild. Can't wait to wheel it. Looking for a camper top and winch/bumper.

thanks again for all the input. it really influenced my decision and helped me know what to watch for.

Jeffs carb comment eased my mind about acceleration.

Congrats, Barry! Looks like a solid find.

Unfortunately, you can't just adjust fuel on the 22RE like the 22R with a carburetor. It's pretty much as good as it's gonna get. But, sounds like it is plenty peppy! I have a set of AISIN hubs for sale. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

its a 22r w carb

had a good day driving it the 120 miles or so to Decatur. Ran very smooth though it started to hesitate and splutter a little after I stopped and restarted. Reminds of of the intake issues I had with the 60. Runs smooth as butter and then suddenly starts acting up. Gonna question the usual suspects. Vacumn hoses, Intake etc.

Do you feel like this?

Loose that bumper, tool box, fix a dent and re-paint. Paint and polish the rims, change mirrors, add a roll bar and kc lights and your are going "back in time".

I am half tempted to do it to my 92 which is already black.

But I think you want a topper so you can sleep in it right? If you use it for all purpose then they are nice. If you plan on mostly using it for camping etc. then a little pop up would be sweet.

Hell yes, that thing is cool. Small, sleek, streamline, and not much bigger than a regular topper. Probably not too heavy either. Price is a little higher than I would like to see but it is OBO, and unique.

Man I can't wait for the snow to melt so I can finish my SAS on my camper.

What is the plan for the 84 pickup man? What are you going to use it for?

I would like a sturdy camper shell on it. Then build a sleeping platform with storage space beneath. Use it for my daily driver with my guitars in back and a camping/fishing truck for downtime.

Back when I had access to a printing facility with endless amounts of paper at the school library, I downloaded and printed the entire Factory Service Manual for an '85 Toyota.

Google "factory service manual 22r", find a good downloadable link, and print it all out. This will come in handy for all the unusual querks you will find with this truck. They are bound to pop up.
