Looks like so much fun! Thanks for sharing!

Going back to the real world after a week of camping is tough. San Francisco is just as filthy as I remember it... and the streets aren't even made of dirt. I'll post some truck updates and a damage report in my build thread but figured I'd house photos and Baja snippits here.

Personally, I had a great time. I think we did pretty well as a group especially with it being the first time in camping in Baja for all of us. Special kudos to @Mogwai for convincing us to head further south than we'd planned (Conception Bay) after the second day of iffy weather on the west coast. It wasn't a slam dunk decision since we didn't know if we had the maps, pesos, time, energy, etc. to do it but it turned out to be a great call.

The highlights for me were Conception Bay, gas station ceviche, Mission San Borja (and the road in and out), a luxurious lunch at Alfonsina's in Gonzaga Bay, and the nightly campfire + beer ritual.

On to some photos...

Gotta love that @reevesci handy-work...

@TRD Burglar contemplating the meaning of life (or looking for a safe place to pee) during our first sunrise

We were literally chilling on the beach and someone walks up with a pile of pies for sale. Pineapple, shown below.

Next, on to some landscapes.

A few of the high desert on our way to Mission San Borjas. I can't wait to check out some of our collective video footage of this area. Stunning.

It took us a while to find a suitable camping location in Bahia de los Angeles though I still had time to put down a beer before shooting some twilight.

The trick, though, though is to have enough discipline to get up for sunrise photos.

Lastly, one of my favorite parts of camping is looking forward to good times around the campfire.

Hanging out at Conception Bay

Thanks to @TonyP @Mogwai @Markuson @TRD Burglar @Mark Mehalic for a great trip. Also, thanks to Tony for snapping a photo of the guy carrying nothing but tires which I stole as my new profile picture for a while.

I agree.
Good learning experience on what to plan for, what to bring and what I need/don't need on longer trips.
Already considering plans for next year's trip (thinking Canada/Alaska).

Hermando? You posted a pic earlier of "Henry."

Hmm, I didn't know that Mark named his pet seadick.
Ummm, I just went back and didn't see the pic. Must have been a different Baja thread.

Mark bleeding all over my finely considered plans...

Sorry about the mess...
You shoulda seen the black rocks where it happened. Almost-artistic, glowing bloodbath against the black volcanic rocks. ‘Twas glorious...

Actually I can back calling it A-hole of the Sea... I believe Tony and Carlos coined “sea dick...” and after that I lost count of how many times I heard the term in the next 40 minutes. :hillbilly:

Great photos, Cole!

I’ve got more to dump onto google...

Awesome, just awesome! Glad all had a safe trip, and keep the pics coming.

That damn seadick, that was a good laugh. Nothing like juvenile comedy. Though I'm sure the several gallons of booze helped.
