What will be the difference in using the heavier flywheel?
Looks like you've been busy! If you haven't found out already, the power steering reservoir will probably foul the 40 series firewall.
I think I have all of the parts now, just need to make some space in the garage to swap it in. Will let you know if I run into any trouble!
Is there a reason you're using the alloy bellhousing and not the original B bellhousing? I was under the impression they set the gearbox at a different angle
The 60/70 alloy bellhousing part number I can find that I think it might be is 31111-60180 or 31111-60190. (I think the difference is if it's drilled and tapped for a tachometer) Like @myusername I was under the impression that the alloy bellhousing tilted the transmission a few degrees to one side.Yeah, after a year of hiatus I am finally back at it.
The PS reservoir is planned to be mount up high on the radiator frame.
This specific aluminum housing found on BJ60s and BJ70's is a direct swap with no tilting. Perhaps you are thinking the H series housings from the 60 series landcruisers. There is some variation there.
The only reason I went with the alloy was because it was on the h41 I sourced for the input shaft swap and in order to mount the left and right bellhousing brackets that Toyota started using with the aluminum housings. You can's fit those on a cast bellhousing
