Hey, i have a 1970 FJ40 with a SBC and the TH350 transmission, i got my transmission rebuilt and the shop seems to have liberated my kickdown cable... given how sluggish the vehicle is in the first place, should i cut my losses and cap the kickdown cable hole? or try to see if they can find it in their trash can?

Figured im not passing too many people with 35s in the ol girl... but kinda sucks they kept it

You gotta have kick down. There's no sense in having a V8 without it. Most all old V8 Chev auto's had one.

to be fair, before the rebuild, i dont think there was any clutch material left in the transmission... so who knows what itll be like now. But if yall think they are of value! i can try to get it back and reinstall it or buy a new one

It's your 40, do what you want. I run sbc and manual trans. I shift 5th to 4th quite often to pass or sometimes 4th to 3rd depending on the rpms. I also like to blow the carbon off the tops of the pistons too.
