Looks great, @Atwalz

Looks good. I'd be interested in knowing the final material cost of the sliders.

Final cost of material (steel, fasteners, and paint) excluding tools was ~$600.

Thanks for that. It goes to show you (me) how really expensive sliders are to produce!

Don't forget the labor! :)

True. Man, those White Knuckles really are a hell of a steal.

How come it cost you so much. I use race spec DOM tubing, brushed stainless & 1/4"- 5/16" plate & I would barely reach $400. I then sell them for approx $900. Price of materials in USA can't be that expensive is it ?

Brooksy

I'm guessing an individual purchasing a small amount of steel doesn't get wholesale pricing nor a volume discount. U.S. steel has also increased in cost as many of the plants moved to China.

Nice work on those sliders as well Brooksy!

^ what he said.

I scrapped my skid plates on Black Bear Pass last year. So hence this project. After 3 days of hard work, I finished building two skid plates to protect engine's belly pan. They are similar style as OE but 3/16" mild steel. All of the bolts are recessed. front skid plate and center cross member linking radiator support bracket and front cross member for engine/LCA. Fasteners are mix of SAE3/8" grade 8 or 8mm metric grade 10.9. I have yet to paint them. I will use spray can with semi gloss finish.

Very cool Atwalz. Definitely a true "build" thread, since you're the one doing the building. Looks solid!

Yeah, very nice. I just bolt in parts. You are actually fabbing stuff. Well done!

Thanks. This time material cost of skid plates were free as I had the left over steel from past project. :)

Very cool!

Now doing my research on building adjustable rear lower control arms. I will be making my shopping list once I figure out the tubing size, heim joints size and bushing size.

nice work man
