First snow in the mountains! Working Pig (70 FJ55) earning his keep by plowing the 6-7 inches of snow off the driveway. Gotta love it!

That's awesome!!! I know we just talked to my SIL who lives in Steamboat Springs and she was excited they were getting snow so early!

Hope this thread isn't too far gone, definitely one of my favorite rigs in this forum. Paul, I browsed through this entire thread looking for details on your roof rack. Is it custom? I like the idea of a platform rack, and I'm looking to go RTT. Anything you would do different on your roof rack if you had it to do again?

that fj55 is such a cool rig!!!

Hi Fitzy-

Sorry about the delayed reply. I built the RR specifically for the roof top tent. It's made from 11/4 steel tubing. The corners bent by a friend with a tube bender. I used smaller tubing inside the 11/4 to join the corners to the main lengths and plug and butt welded the the corners to the main lengths. The brackets I purchased from a vender here on mud, but unfortunately can't remember his name. Sorry.

Good luck on your build and lmk if you have other questions.

Beautiful, thanks for the details!

You will have to come east next year.

So, we're starting to have some nice weather at ATC HQ and thought I would go ahead and start test fitting all our camping gear and ATC goodies for the upcoming OE 2014 roadtrip. Here's the first go round....

OzTent, side curtains and folding table fits nicely the Thule.

Tool and parts Pelican fits nicely in the back and just behind the seats. Camp kitchen pelican, sleeping bags folding chairs, folding shower tent, folding toilet and grill also fit nicely in the rear with plenty of room for ATC Gear!

Now to unpack and minimize and re-pack....and repeat until I've cut everything by 1/3!

And some more....

Hey Joe-

Yeah...I'm a bit of a Pelican geek. Generally I run 1500s, 1550s, 1600s, 1610s and 1730s. The one in the the picture is a 1610 mobile (has a dolly handle and wheels). Hope that helps and good luck with your project!

The 60 was once again called into service to deliver ATC gear to CruiserFest. While in route it became a repair service truck, ambulance, victim, dune buggy and venders tent! It made the 1300 mile trip without any major problems, but some great stories!
