I recently made a radical decision to sell my 100-series LX470 that I thought I would keep forever. I wish I could've kept it, but I just don't have the room for a sixth vehicle.
I made this decision, because I wanted something newer that was a little more family-focused -- safety features, less maintenance required, more comfortable, etc... For me the answer was always the Land Cruiser, but my wife wanted to understand the other options available out there. I understood that all the other options don't necessarily meet all of our requirements -- towing capability, off-road capability, size, price and, most importantly, reliability. The other options were: Land Rover Defender (not reliable), Range Rover (not reliable), Ford Explorer (my wife currently has one as a company vehicle and I hate it), Jeep Grand Wagoneer (reliability?), GMC Yukon (reliability?), and the G-Wagon (reliability?, price). There was really no debate and the wife was convinced. This is what we ended up with...

And now that I have myself I reliable rig I end up with this... What's the deal?!?! I've only had the truck for two weeks :frown:

I did a bunch of searching on this error and the messages received in the information display and I've found little-to-no help except to clean the front emblem and look for grounded wires. Dammit!

Bummer. Disconnect the battery and hope it fixes itself? If it's any solace that's a damn good looking rig.

I'd look for a disconnected plug either at the rearview mirror or behind the grill. I got a bunch of those errors when I was trying to wire in a dash cam to the mirror harness where many of the forward looking cameras are located.

Have you found the FSM yet. But as said above, it sounds like something came unplugged and it's affecting multiple systems. Toyota definitely uses sensors from one subsystem to provide data to multiple ECUs/subsystems. The FSM generally clearly describes which subsystems rely on each other. As well as tells you where everything should be and how to test if you need to get that far.

No, where do I find the FSM? That would be good to have on hand.

I fixed it! I don't know how this happens, but I guess it does.

My guess was the mirror or front camera. I forgot to reconnect my front camera harness after installing the front bumper/winch and I had the full Christmas tree as well. Congrats on the new addition and welcome to the 200 forum.

The first thing I did was install my 18cuft Yakima Cargo Carrier. There was no way to install it with the feet that came with the carrier. I had to remove the clamping feet from the carrier and the holes in the bottom of the carrier were close enough to the roof rack slots that I could just slide some bolts through the carrier. Used some 8mm nuts and large washers and good-to-go.

I'm focused on the roof rack right now and carrying all the stuff that my 100-series used to carry. If that wasn't obvious.

Next I installed some Eezi-Awn Hi-Lift jack brackets and a new, red Hi-Lift jack. I love the red contrast with the black truck and bronze wheels 😍 I'm thinking about getting some red ARB recovery points to replace the tow points on the front frame of the rig. Not necessary IMHO, but it would look cool and continue the red, black, white theme. Maybe a piece of mind as well.

It may have not been pushed all the way by the last person who was in there and slowly worked loose.

That "last person" would've been me. 😆 I didn't disconnect it, but it must of gotten jammed loose when I was removing the cover.

I was looking to get a cargo/pet barrier behind the back seats for my dog. He's a big boy. And he's a bit destructive. No fault of his own; he's just rather large. My "pet" name for him is "Little Dog". Anyways, I need something durable since the Little Dog, Walter, destroys the light-weight Amazon stuff. Slee sells one made by ARB and it looks durable, but it's made to work with a drawer system, which I don't have and don't plan on getting (need room for Walter). Then I found Molle panels. Awesome! The Molle panels can mount tons of stuff as can the cargo/pet barrier. And it's cheaper than the ARB option!

I love these Molle panels, but they were a PIA to install.

If you get that headlight system malfunction error code again, it's fairly common on the 16+ to have the headlight fluid run low. It probably has something to do with the headlight redesign because mine hasn't had that issue.

"Headlight fluid"? Is that a joke?
