Thanks for the comments. The last couple of pictures was supposed to put emphasis on the squirrel who snuck into my truck....

Thank goodness you didn't leave your keys in it! Was that on a camping trip?

The couple of members have asked me to post photos of the hinge and latch for the Volvo armrest. The Volvo armrests does not bolt directly on-you have to get creative.

I used aluminum flat bar to make a spacer to gain the right height for the hinge and long screws to screw the whole thing together. I've then spaced out the latch appropriately to lock onto the factory armrest and JBwelded the latch to the Volvo lid.

The last two pictures are before and after, the after being when someone broke into my cruiser and ripped the latch off. I never repaired it again; in all honesty, I don't really see the need to have the lid lockdown.

I just drilled 2 holes to match the 2 holes on the Volvo lid using the stock hinge. It works pretty good and there is tension when you open and close it so it feels just right. Hope the pic works and it's visible. I still gotta cut the extra bracket or make it look nicer but it's working thou.

Ok just another update, I found this one on eBay and fits really good, I had to remove my "cup holder" on the side but that's it, then I just screw it to the console.
For 24 bucks, not bad.
