Aw man. Hope not. I ordered it raw, not unfinished.
Is the tube open on the bottom to allow drilling and fishing wires?
TN is getting closer......

I received mine Friday. Is anyone else missing the "marine grade plug" advertised on AOE's website (pictured below from earlier in the thread)?

I do not think that upgrade is included, that was likely a customed addition.

I think I got robbed.....

i just checked my bumper, it does have a hole but not an outlet. The outlet was not included, I think that is an option someone put on their bumper.

Which holes are you referring to? Can you share a photo?
I ordered mine raw, it's pretty much raw, unfinished, a few weld splatter here and there, some light oxidation every where. It's what I was expecting because I will do the finishing on it. Is there anything you want me to bring up with Alex?

Nope. Not necessarily. I'm still waiting for mine anyways.
I just meant the upper hoop tubes. Can you access the insides so you could cleanly run wires to the upper tube for lights. And for the plug well I thought it was quite cool and one of the features that kinda pushed me over the top on the decision. No biggy and I don't mean to sound negative. I appreciate all that you have done and the push made by aoe at crunch time. I knew when the buy went up that the timing would pose challenges. I wasn't expecting a delivery as promised initially until it was mentioned it was shipped. And it was the holidays but really just two business days... Not weeks. Still eagerly awaiting the arrival.

What are your plans for prep?
I read the media blasting didnt leave the desired raw finish. A chemical app or muriatic solution for removing flash rust?

if You are familiar with stone wash finish on metal, it looks quite nice to me. My original plan was to clean it up with a wire brush then remove rust if any are left. Possibly sand it down to a smooth finish but not shiny to reduce sun reflection. If that doesn't work out, I will try some sort of special orbit sander my buddy have, he said the result is close to stone wash, then spray clear primer and clear auto paint on it.
I might go as far as polishing it to a very fine smooth shiny finish and apply Gun Metal Blue, this would make the bumper look very very unique with blue and black variations, apply clear coat and done.
Another way to make a good looking bumper if you have a propane blow torch, just heat that sucker up and the colors will be a feint rainbow look like the weld lines, this also need to be polished.

I want to put a unicorn horn on my bull bar. I already emailed him regarding the outlet, waiting for reply but he usually does not work on Sundays.

I'm a Texas Longhorns fan and actually have plans to put some horns on it during the college football season this fall. Yeah I didn't even thing about the plug thing but thinking about it I really do have any need for a socket there. I may put a winch quick disconnect there for jumper cables or something.

The upper tube is welded in there with no opening at the bottom. You can see where the weld is from underneath the plate and you could just drill a whole to run your wire into the tube. Now that you bring it up I might do that.

why dont' you use that tube as an air tank? I'm trying to figure out out I can weld up my wings and use it as air tank too.

Wrench, please don't be mad...

You can see in the last pic that I can't close the garage door right now, so it is only temporary.
But **** am I happy!
