Yes, but it can be bent up out if the way if it just hangs low. I would like to have known ahead of time if it requires full relocation.

Did Alex tell you this or is just a visual assumption you made?

That is hogwash. It doesn't need to be moved. He doesn't know what he is saying.

Curious if you need to mod the dryer for bump it offroad or metaltech tube bumpers which are high clearance and offer little to no protection to that area. Although bump it might have a skid built into their tube bumper.

Even with my ARB the dryer is left exposed. Solution is the Slee dryer skid or fab your own.

Does the dryer need to be modded like in the link above for the bumper to be installed or is it a precuation mod?

You can't turn it sideways. It won't work that way. It must stay vertical.

Is not necessary to move it except for trail protection. Here is a pic of mine as it was moved up by bending the lines. You can see where the bracket used to grab it. The bottom of the bracket was also cut so it didn't hang down. The bottom of the turning-light housing was cut to tuck in the top as high as possible.

So did anyone get their bumper yet?

I think mine is coming by covered wagon. I am getting impatient . Their CS needs help badly. I should be able to know the shipping co and be able to track it as well. This is 2014 for petes sakes!

Wrench, you're not alone. I've been listening for the sound of a team of sled dogs or 6,000 carrier pigeons. Maybe I'll get a call to pick it up from the shipping port in Detroit. Of course since it has been snowing for a week and its below 20 right now, I don't mind the wait. I almost wish it would take until spring so I can keep some of the limited space in my garage.

Whoever gets their bumpers needs to let the rest of us know... maybe even post pictures?

Also, its possible I'm not looking close enough, but my '92 doesn't have the AC dryer in that location. Am I nuts?

I'm near Fresno. I could drive to this shop in 4 hours. But I'm out of town and actually drove 6 hours in the other direction today. Hopefully it's sitting in my driveway and I have to park on the street when I get home tomorrow.

Golgo ... Your not nuts. Your earlier 80 has it tucked in front of the battery tray where it should have stayed. Relocation kit is a bit pricey but available to us with the latter positioning. Contact Dan or akella perhaps if interested.

Day 5 here ..... And in the USA. Hope the transit driver fairs better than the laser cutter, or powder coater, or I phone. With the holiday I'm imagining Monday at soonest now. Just would be nice to know as I had travel plans but can't risk leaving a bumper curbside while gone this weekend.

Alll bumpers have been shipped so he says...... except the last order from Martyj.

Thanks for the confirmation jfz80!

My AC system doesn't work anyway, that is another issue for another time. The engine compartment in the FJ is almost completely different from the FZJ. Most of the same parts are there, but in different locations.

This is day 5 for me as well and I'm in SE Michigan.

Thanks! I've been chasing down CEL 26, rough idling, and misfiring, or poor fuel delivery issues, so I've "kind of" forgotten about the bumper. I've spend so much time checking for air intake leaks, vacuum leaks, dirty throttle body, faulty ignition system, and O2 sensors that I'm kind of bummed that this nice bumper may go to a vehicle that has limited life. A poor running vehicle is like being sick...nothing matters; you can hit a jackpot at a casino, and all the joy is sucked out when you're ill. This is how I feel about my '93 with 249,500 miles on the odo. Fortunately, I still have the option to take it to a mechanic to see if he can solve my issues. Until it is resolved, the bumper is going to be a paperweight. I guess I should "feel a little fortunate" because I sense a lot of anxiety from you guys due to late delivery ;)

Ha! So I picked up my bumper and noticed the fog light holes are missing the flange inside, have to pick up another one next week.
