between the steel and fiberglass , I'm on the glass side .. no more rust , or dents . toyotafiberglass.com has some nice stuff . what I would like to see avaliable are the :

Rad overflow bottles and windshield washer bottles
interior trim plastics
and door weatherstrips and mouldings

^ Reminds me, I have some N.O.S. bolts and bracketry from my '89 sitting around still, along with the acorn lugnuts. I should ebay them? :D

this is all great stuff guys.
keep the posting up. the more the better.

what i am going to do is email a few of the popular landcruiser restoration sites and show them that there is a market here. and hopefully they might be interested to getting into it.

so keep posting. keep it specific as possible. hopefully a trend will start to emerge. so far, interior parts seem to be popular

I have no idea if it was a joke. Sorry guys. There were pictures of box panels in the ad. It looked for real. Maybe all he had was what was pictured. But the ad made it sound like the guy had some factory connection and could get the stuff.

It was a craigslist ad that's since been deleted. I did see it, there was a bunch of OEM parts still in factory boxes (the boxes looked pretty tired, must have been old warehouse stock).

I can't really help with interior panels, carpets, consoles, but as for factory switches, what is the specifics of the issues? Are we talking the parts not working versus the plastic cracking?

Switches can be found, you just need to look at other Toyota's, like Celicas, Supras, Cressidas, etc. as I've been for some recent electrical, restoration, and custom wiring jobs. I can see if Drew (Amaurer) would be into doing a prototype batch since it's where he got into doing a set of multiple era shift/transfer case knobs last year.

Case in point, the deck light switch I am using to power my Rigid Industry Floods.

The switch profile also is duplicated in all the 1st Gen Tacomas as I've used their ECT, Flood Light, and Accessory Switches in a couple recent jobs that have gone to SEMA.

Great! What year/model do you suggest for replacing the power window master switch on an 85 SR5 4Runner? They are unobtainium. Switch Doctor has one that's close but it's for a later model (they say 84-88) but I've never seen an 84 with power door locks.

^ We did a similar thing when I scanned in the visor instructions on shifting and 4wd. Once scanned I took it to a professional deca shop bike shops use and he just converted them into templates. The problem was it ran like $35 for a set, including the glove box sticker.

All you need then is people to scan or take pictures and get a file started in here of them. Then just find someone to run them.

~IIRC they have to be available to California drivers as it's something the Smog Nazi's need in front of them as a part of the checks. If someone doesn't have one, what do you do, goto a Referee to get a simple reprint done??

^for the price....$35 is a no brainer...KLF you should contact norcal born.....

goood luck!

Also keep in mind some of the Land Cruiser parts are direct bolt on's, like I've mentioned before.

Spector Off-Road (*say what you want but Marv has the parts and works hard to ge them so comparatively the price is worth paying IMHO if you REALLY REALLY NEED IT.)

The thing here is don't call Marv asking about "Mini" stuff b/c he honestly has not taken it to heart to consider this part of the market for his parts and doesn't always know if something will work.

Examples, the black steel center caps you simply shave off a couple of the retention tabs and they fit 4Runner and Mini steel rims. The black plastic caps you drill out (my tech writeup on that's somewhere in here?) and those replace the old style ones that go around the manual hubs.

As for interior electrical stuff, FWIW some connectors carry through all the way up to 2000 in 4Runners and Mini's, just used differently. For example that 2000 ECT switch I used to power my Rigid Industries floods, the 4 pin connector is also on some older stuff. The deck light plug assembly is used on the keyed rear hatch window main plug and the window control lockout switch. I literally can connect a switch to a switch if I needed to! :D

(*Example pic pending, lemme finish dinner first.)

Interior trim, lights, and dash pad

Interior trim, lights, and dash pad

Frames.

Interior parts.

Interior parts would be awesome. Dash pads especially seem to be getting hard to find, as are the two piece bolt covers that go along the interior of the 4runners. The L pieces that go up front break so easily that finding a good pair is a chore, been looking for 2 years without much success. Consoles, dash panels, trim, all would be great to have a source for.

Dash pads
Replacement beds for the rusty years
seats
window trim

It seems like everyone needs interior parts...which i agree. besides the coveted dash pads what specific stuff would you like to see?

  • I know the sacred "L trim" that covers the inside of the fiberglass top is one.
  • Definitely rear cargo area side panels. those things were really cheap and flimsy from toyota anyway. and they always faded.
  • I know I need the little plastic piece that the power side view mirror switch clips into. its a small trapezoid piece with some holes in it. pretty easy to mold IMO.
  • New seat fabrics would be nice.
  • What about consoles? guys are hacking those up left and right for twin stick setups....

Keep this up guys. the more ammunition the better.

Yes, consoles would be great, especially the part that goes around the shifters, with the vinyl boot. All of the original factory ones are very brittle now, even with the best care they are very easy to break. My last one cracked up just from cab vibrations and flex. Problem is, there are several versions. When I switched from a W56 to a R151F, my old surround no longer fit, the shifter is about 3" forward.

Clutch Pedal Bracket

Just had my clutch pedal bracket start to go on the 1988 4runner, part# 55106-89124. It has been discontinued and so now we need to have it welded or locate at a junkyard. Not too bad a problem now, but in the future I'm sure we'll need another one, and not sure how scarce they'll become. From what all the parts people tell me they are very commonly broken items and no one knows why they have stopped their production.

I will be going to the dealer to get some misc. pieces in the next month or so for my 92 pickup. I am not sure if they will have them but here is what I am after.

dome light switch plastic knob,
rear window plastic latch/lock
cup holder
door handle square inner plastic pieces
door handle lever plastic clip/sleeve
square inner plastic pieces / inserts for floor trim piece along door

I would also like a rubberized / vinyl floor (like a carpet kit) that you see in commercial vehicles so it is easy to clean out mud and snow.

i dont mean this sarcastically...but good luck....really though.
most of the interior stuff is done-zo. un-obtanium. you might have a little better luck being that its a third gen pickup.
like i said i wish you the best of luck but dont be disappointed when the parts counter jockey starts shakin his head at you.
