Another testament to the toughness of an 80 when mine met a Buick yesterday.

drivers without insurance should be shot on the spot. They really get under my skin.

J-Bo-- Sorry to hear about the 80... Good thing you were not injured.

Glad you are ok! Sorry about your loss though. That truly sucks. It looked like a real nice rig too. If you end up parting it out, let me know. I could provide a good home to some of her parts. Like those BFG's a rim and the raingutter moldings. Thanks.

So glad to hear you are safe. That is a spooky hit. Of course we are glad to hear the Metal-tech bumper did its job protecting the truck. Wow even the PIAA survived!

Dan is of course correct the frame is way bent. The front left mount fully boxed by the winch mount is still higher than the right side. When you get the replacement truck, let us know and we will work you a deal on a new bumper.

Again good to hear you are safe. Mark

J-bo,
glad everything turned out ok for you.

one tip, don't take the insurance payout immediately. wait a few weeks and get checked out again. sometimes you can have serious issues that don't appear until a little later where you no longer have recourse with the insurance.

Glad to see you are ok...I was involved in a head on with a milk truck back in 96.......my dad's 83 Lincoln Town Car is what saved me.

If you have knee pain you may have to watch out for PCL injuries (stretches or tears). PCL (posterior crutiate ligament) is a ligament in the knee that is not injured often, but does get injured in head-ons when your knee hits the dash.

The PCL in my left knee is torn. Not fun.

Something to keep in mind.

Dave

Glad you are ok,but dont be too quick to sign isur. release papers. This is why my family of 7 All drive cruisers, its the best health ins. when you dont have to use your health ins.! Mike

I may take you up on that real soon Mark. I am eying two 80's in my area right now. I don't want anything else right now. Thanks for the advice today.

I feel your pain, after a high speed rollover totaled my 95 last thanksgiving day I felt half empty for months. Mud was my only 80's fix. Finally bought a '97 sage 40th this spring. Just had to, once there in your blood nothing else will do!
Super glad your OK, I fully believe the 80 save my family as we walked away unscathed.
Good luck!!
Steve

that looks nasty....

I am glad you are well....
Sorry about the truck....

as for uninsured drivers..... well I better not say as it won't be good language for this forum..

Good luck with it all..

Wow. Glad you are not messed up.

RIP for your 80, salvage what you can. Get another one. Keep driving big LC's around.

That other car is destroyed.

I'm glad you were able to walk away from such a potentially life damaging accident. Our bumper held up way better than expected.

On a side note... at least I know that my welds hold up! :hillbilly:

Buicks just arent made like they used to be....

The frame is definitely bent. That's a parts-truck right now.

Parts truck for sure, I would buy it back anyway though, if the buyback is 1k or less. You could sell the axles, and engine parts to recoup some of your losses.

Sorry to hear about the accident though. Definitely get checked out at the hospital or whatever, to make sure you're okay. You usually don't feel the real pain for a while
