I forgot you had an 80! Haha

You should say you have a friend wanting to trade for a stock suspension. Buy a new set-up roll it around in the dirt and then put it on :hillbilly:

Yes, I've thought about being sneaky but, she knows me all to well..

So, looks like some of the guys around my area are gonna put together another get together (non-organized) at Barnwell. a few Heeps, FJs, LCs and Minis. Once I know the weekend I let ya know if you wanna come up.

Then glue the headliner to the MDF.

Lay prepped panel on vinyl and spray glue and both pieces. Trim where you have about 2" around the panel.

Going back to this...
I started on making Pig panels this weekend.
All was well until we tried to start stapling.
I was using 1/4" x 13mm staples and could not get them to penetrate the hardboard...
Did you have any problems with this?
Not sure how hard MDF is? I got a scrap piece of tempered hardboard from the home improvement store and thought it would be a good test panel for the rear cargo area...

T, Here is what I used for staples and 1/8" tempered hardboard on Hamp. I used 1/4" MDF on Marley's panels. Same staples on both cruisers panels.

Hope this helps,

J

Hmm... Wonder if my staple gun is too wimpy?

Where do you get those staples? I was using 1/4" by 13mm. I wonder if the extra width takes away from the penetration power?

And you had no problems with your staples driving in?

What kind of gun are you using?

It's all about the penetration...

I got the stapler and staples at ACE Hardware.

Cheapo stapler Arrow T50P model, no problem with operation or staples penetrating the tempered (HDF) or MDF. Just make sure you are straight up and down when stapling.

Thanks mate. Didn't mean to pester, but we got all the way to stapling on the vinyl last weekend, only to be denied!
That brought the suck...

I used pretty much the same staples as J and actually had and automatic gun to finish. Had a manual one that I didnt have any problems with so not sure if it is the gun or user error. Make sure you have equal pressure on the head of the gun so the the tip does not "bounce".

J- you'll be seeing me in the 80 section soon... Muuaahahaha!!!! :D

Nah, couldn't pass up the locked 94 with only 136k on it, for the price. (I told him I thought it was fair to knock off a bunch because of deferred maintenance, and he agreed!) :D

THank you sir.
