Finally shackles installed.. MAF 5 3/4" extended shackles. Angle is decent and rides great still. I figured the trail wagon was gonna come out in the front end after this but stayed good.

Didn't take a side pic of Marley before the extended shackles.. So, here's one from before.

How Marley sits this morning... and without a drop of any fluid on the driveway... FOR NOW!

Although your "after" photo is a bit askew, I would say the shackles worked out perfect. My rule of thumb is somewhere between actual and optical in that I like to have the same gap between top of tire and edge of wheel well EVEN THOUGH the front wheel well goes a little higher on the body. That's just the right amount (very little) stinkbug for my sensibilities. If it's dead level, the larger front wheel well makes it LOOK like it's front/high even though it isn't.

Great work J. She is definitely sittin pretty now! I'm interested as to your driving impressions with the new tranny once you get some miles on her!

Awesome work J

Wow the Smittybilt is almost to big for that with the new shifter?! Or did it almost touch the boot beforehand?

Looks really good J. And the new shackles really do help to level things out. I have a feeling I am going to go the cheap route for a few years and just get some AALs this summer for BeBe.

You will have to give us some driving impressions when you get the chance with the new setup!

Thanks Danny. Shackle dimensions helped a lot. See driving comments below..

Greg/Danny, Driving with the new transmission is AWESOME!. Took Marley for a 80ish mile slow run last night to start breaking it in a bit. I can tell you that 1st gear is much lower than the 4spd. Will definitely be nice off road for crawling and whatnot. You saw my old clutch, so the slipping is not a problem at all anymore. 5th gear in the East Texas rolling hills in nice. I could actually gain speed going up hill here and RPMs are much lower. (Gas mileage has never been a concern of mine, but curious how it will be once I get my carb back from Jim C)

Like Johnny said... it is indeed like a new cruiser. Very pleasant to drive with what I feel is added power with my set up.

I know it is an expensive step up... But, is now my recommendation going forward. I will let all know as I go, but only see this getting better.

Oh Greg, the shifter angle, boot, console stayed exactly the same...No need for any mod there...

Good work my friend. Thanks for the huge selection of cruiser porn :grinpimp:

I knew you'd love it!

thats so cool. i need one of those

On to more projects now. Just got off the phone with Rex with Coolstream and ordered new AC components for Marley. Hopefully I get these and my carb from Jim C close together and get these installed.

I still need to build an auxiliary fuse block bracket and mount it along with breakers and wire extra aux. accessories.

OH THE JOYS OF LAND CRUISER ADDICTION!!! :grinpimp:
