I ended up threading some bolts into the oil pan threads to keep paint out of them.

First time using this KBS paint but first impressions are excellent. It's sticky, stinky, and thick. I dripped some on my pants and it soaked right through. I went ahead and pulled the tape and thread plugs after 30 minutes or so.

Heck yeah you have free rein. Looks awesome!

Had a few brief minutes last night to piddle in the garage.
Installed the front oil galley plug

Dip stuck tube fitting and turbo coolant / block drain fitting.

Another little oil plug. I left the other one at the rear of the block off in case I get to start this thing up on a stand I'll have a good place for a mechanical gauge to monitor oil pressure.

Primarily waiting on main bearings from Australia to really get rolling with this thing but, I did run over to my old work and pressed in the new rod bolt today. I should be able to get the pistons attached to the rods this weekend and then I'm at a standstill until the bearings get here.

Hoping the main bearings will be here Monday and I can get the crank back in the block. I did notice that I haven't done anything with the front engine mount brackets so need to get those cleaned up and painted or powder coated.

All done. They're bagged and tagged and stashed away.

Hard to believe it's been almost two months since I touched this thing but last week the main bearings finally showed up from Australia. I finished my woodworking projects so going to clear my saws out of the garage tonight and start putting this sucker back together tomorrow.

First order of business was getting this block on my gear driven engine stand. The one it was currently on was junk and I wouldn't trust it to support more than a bare block. Had to get my 12ht off the gear driven stand and I wanted to build something I could start it on and store it until I find another truck for it. I welded this frame up with some scrap metal. The 2x4 will come out from under the pan once I bolt on the bellhousing and make a cushioned support for it.

Yesterday I threw this dolly together to keep it semi mobile since my garage space is super limited. When I have a little more time I'm going to put a floor in the dolly and frame it up with sides and a top to at least make a table of sorts out of it since it's taking up space anyway. All this of course after I test run this engine.
