The block adapter also comes wth a extra plate for larger filters

Is the added distance/resistance to flow of any consequence?

I do not think that is a significant factor. The plumbing is pretty stout and should not impact flow.

I agree with you, Stu.

Your block adapter is quite different than mine - looks beefier.

I actually like the idea of the hoses to the remote filter assy. It'll need more oil to fill the system when the oil is changed, but while its being used to lube your engine, there's more available to lubricate and cool. When the engine is running, the addional path that the oil will now take, should not have any negative affect on the system. IMHO, it's a totally positive mod. Good job, Stu!

Thanks Tom.
I took inspriation from your set up. How much oil do you take now? I estimate 2 additional quarts?

Last time I changed both oil and filters, it took 9 qts to fill. It will vary depending, on your hose length and size of filters you're using. I use the same size by-pass, but my full flow (EA015) is smaller than your EA026. I think your setup should serve you well for many years. I'm entirely satisfied with mine after almost 14 years, now - gosh has it been that long?! Time flies :hmm:

WOW 14yrs .. and no issues... this say a lot about the quality of the product...
I actually have room for the EaBP110... that will be a while before I have to change that.. :steer:

where I can found this adapter .?

It came in a kit from Amsoil. This is an old adapter from like 10 yrs ago, or so. Not sure if you can get it anymore. The one Stu is using is the new or current adapter. The new ones look stronger, I'd go for the new adapter. Try this link: Amsoil by-pass filter mounting kits for more info. Not sure if Amsoil ships out of the USA. You might try e-mailing them.

Tapage, this is adapter I used. It say 3/4 - 16. Hope that helps

YW -

As a Amsoil PreferredCustomer, you get a nice discount.

I will be plumbing up the filters tomorrow.

Plumbing completed and it took 10.5 quarts. :D
The filters took a quart each(I fillled each before screwing them up to the mount).

The filter adapter allowed me the flexibility to run the hoses safely back to the remote mount. As mentioned earlier I picked up a 45* fitting for the return line (Center fitting) which made things easier as well.

The toughest part was to tighten down the fittings. You will need 2 stuby 1" wrenches to completed this.

Pics to come this weekend.

Final Install Pictures

2 Pics on the Block adapter installed. The out line run closer to the block. The return line, aided by the 45* fitting, comes back from the inner fender side. Care is taken so it does not interfere with the Steering column

Remote Mount

The remount mount is high and tight to the body. Far away anything the trails may throw at it. I had the move the metal line a bit to make sure there would be not rattling or rubbing.

Clearance

I am considering adding a protection plate from the Frame to the bottom of the mount. There are 2 captured nut in the frame that I can use. Possible over kill???
