Subscribed on ford replacement ... mine is so shot , and I've heard iffy results on aftermarket replacements ...

Subscribed. Took about 30 full second to lower the DS window this morning (40 degrees).

ya typical for a ford windows will work forever but the car wont even start...haha. FORD{fix or repair daily}..

It is nice to know I am not alone with slow windows.

Subscribed.

Nope, not alone. Most all of our 80's have the exact same quirks about them.

Waiting to hear back on this as well. All 4 doors are in need of some TLC.

subscribed. Hoping the Ford motor fits.

I just replace my run channels. My windows stopped going up completely. $140 and things are way better but by no means fast.

Very interested on the ford motor.

It will be interesting to see how this works. I looked at pictures of each and they look very similar. The bolt holes look very close, even the gear looks the same. It's plausible, I may pull one of these motors next time I'm at the Junkyard...FOR SCIENCE!

I got tired of waiting so when I got home tonight I pulled out one of the motors and disassembled it. All the gears brushes and windings looked good so I slapped some lithium grease on the gears and put it back in the truck with no improvement to the speed.

typed badly on my iPhone using IH8MUD

Is that what it costs to replace all the pieces the window comes in contact with? Per window price?

waiting as well,,all mine are slow,,wont even let passengers use the windows as they wont go up without helping them by hand..

This made me laugh a little. My passenger window popped off the track and thankfully was in the up position when that happened. I hit the window lock button so no one can use the windows. Kinda lame, but that's how it is until they are fixed.

$65 each door for the rubber channel that runs up the side around the too and back down the on her side. Besides the scissor lift, it is the only thing the window touches.

Another on the "slow window boat"

Ive read quite a few threads like this, but this is the first I recall hearing about the explorer window motor being a direct fit.

I hope someone reports on this with some pictures, if I had anytime this week Id burn down to a pick'n pull and try it. Would be good to know part numbers and pricing as well though to see what new ones are worth.

i would think the mid 90s i happen too have an exploded explorer at a buddies...i will yank them and give it a shot too see if the word is right...id hate too mislead everyone.. ill see how quick i can get at it stay tuned!!
