Any of y'all familiar with Blaze Cut? BlazeCut fire suppression system

I come from the VW van/ bus world where fuel related fires are a continuous issue. As those vehicles increased in popularity, so did s***ty electrical mods and internet builds that neglected to address fuel line degradation. There's a plastic fuel line connector on the firewall of all 2WD Vanagons that fails like clockwork after 30 years. There was also a rash of cheap solar charge controller fires not too long ago.

Thats a pretty cool setup for engine bays for sure.

Had the start stick on my 86 F250, melted the negative battery terminal and that went into the battery. Easy to see how a starter could start a fire like this.

Very easy. Had a wire short out on the controller of my golf cart. Melted one of the terminals on one of the batteries completely down and into the battery....in no time at all. 48 volts, it wasn't playing around.

As if the head gasket scare isn’t enough, now welded starter contacts is the new subject to consume some of us. Class C fires must be de-energized and then all you have on your hands is a class A and B and possibly D fire. Good luck.... I’ll take Insurance for $100 Alex.

and i thought the crispy cruiser i was building had a bad fire. wow

I went with a much cheaper solution on my built up truck. I have Anker 300A slow blow fuses on the + terminal of each (dual) battery. Yes, the starter loads on my truck pass through fuses. The only time I've blown one is by accidentally crossing the + bus to the ground bus with a wrench - which was exciting for the 0.25 seconds it took for the fuse to go.

I really should do this on the non-built-up truck too. Hmm...

This thread reminds me to buy a fire extinguisher....and mount it ;)

I had my starter stick on. It ran for about two minutes before I noticed something was off. By the time I stopped and figured it out maybe five. It was pretty toasty by the time I took of the battery terminal. Half melted. Luckily I have upgraded cables and grounds. In the end I take the blame my stater needed contacts and after being impatient I linked my second battery. It started but welded the contacts. It’s not a obvious sound.
