Alcan Springs - Do FJ55's have a lean like 40's?

Well, this was anti-climactic. I should say first off that it rides really nice. But, I'd ordered 3" lift springs and it looks like i've only gained 1 1/2" and they haven't even settled in yet. I'm disappointed in that. I'll have to give Alcan a call.

Alcan suggests sending me an add a leaf. Any thoughts on that? I've only had one truck with add a leafs on stock springs and it was fairly stiff and bouncy. Any with experience on this, please elaborate.

Those poor guys... for a while, they were coming with too much lift and guys were having to remove springs... looks like they might be gun shy now... I agree with @wngrog about the lift being enough if it serves its purpose. More lift without any real performance or clearance is just a higher COG... but I can relate to feeling hornswaggled.

@wngrog, you’re right. Looks much better with the larger tires on. I drove it up and down my dirt road a few times and it looks like I actually got about 2" of lift - in the back anyway. The PO had installed a shim on the back right rear, probably to fix the cruiser lean. So i put the shim back in. At first I regretted it, looked like it leaned more than before. But after a few laps on the road things have leveled out and i'm measuring 2" lift on both sides.

Still, feels like it would have been better an inch higher in the back. Actually, both front and back as I'm sure they will settle some, especially with the winch on the front.

Looks perfect to me. So so awesome. I would put some shorter shackles on it and see how that effects it.

In the case you have with that Much angle a shorter shackle will actually raise the truck.

The only question then will be if you will have enough range of motion. I’m betting yes.

Let me see rear shackle

:) Looks great!

School me on the 33x9.50...I thought no one made these anymore?
