Where did you get the adjuster nuts from. That’s cool.
I think it’s from Sharps tooling, but I think you have to go through a dealer these days. He also has a shifter lever extension he sells.

Took it for a test drive. Tomorrow double check my work and the wheel bearings and see how the parking brake works after some more tweeking.

Hey bud,

Let us know after a bit of driving if you feel the new MRR shocks are worth it. Does the ride justify the extra cost? I have always been a little skeptical, and of course, it is a bit pricey to just try it out as an experiment! They certainly look nice installed. That is why it is good to have you around!! lol

Thanks for sharing! Stay warm!!

I have experience with MRRs. They tune real nice (like any shock with multiple adjusters)

The biggest down fall are the shafts! they are hollow to accept the rebound adjusters on the bottom of the shaft. The shafts tend to bend under heavy sudden shock force.

I'd stick to BP51s if you need on demand tunability and reliability.

Some problems with the fronts. First, the collapsed length is somewhere around 18” which is about 4” taller than the original Dobinson/TT shocks I was using before swapping. I am worried that the shock will bottom out early, that is not have much up travel.

The bottom mounting stud isn’t long enough for a washer and lock washer and nut, also probably not long enough for a lock nut instead of a lock washer and nut.
Also had to come up with a spacer to fill the gap between the mounting stud and the shock bottom mounting hole.

Hmmm, did you crosscheck to verify the correct PN for the front? That’s almost negligible travel once you put weight on it.

I emailed Dobinson to verify correct shocks. They said it’s the correct ones for the front. I have a set of high clearance U bolt plates in the front and it looks like the stud that the shock mounts to might e about an inch or more higher up than stock. I ordered a new stock set. Will see if I’m right about this.

Those aftermarket plates move the shock mount up significantly.

Well, after two years with the Duracel batteries , from Batteries Plus, they started getting wet on top and causing battery corrosion 😕 Went back to Batteries Plus and all they had to say was that they could swap them out but would probably do the same again in two years. So decided to try their AGM batteries. Bit spendy 😕

Would you happen to know the diameter for those headrest stalks (not sure they are officially called). The part that goes into the seat?

I will have to measure when I get home. They look like any other if that helps.

I got new 70 series headrests from Dave Stedman but the stalks on those are hollow and bigger in diameter, however they do line up. The originals from my HZJ77 have solid and smaller diameter stalks.

Don't laugh at my manual calipers. It is all I had at home.
