Evans is something i've been interested in for a while. It is available in Canada, so i won't have to be concerned with Hazmat shipping: according to the Evans site, there are dealers around Alberta.

Want to get Evans waterless coolant but hazmat shipping to AK is really high, almost as much as the coolant and cleaner itself.

It should be no different than shipping any other coolant. Evan's is less toxic than normal coolant apparently. One of the positives. Just get it ordered in through a automotive parts place or heavy equipment service place. They would just include it in their order with all the other coolants and lubricants. Same sort of thing.

Last nights camping, probably last for this year. At end of the road we walked into this spring, posted pictures of before.

How early in the spring does this area open up for exploring? I've always waited until Aug/Sept to head up
north. Thinking of mixing it up and seeing spring instead.

The first time we went up here was June 6th, and they still had the road closed at the gate about 7mi in from the turn off. When we walked in most of the way we did not find any snow on the road, so don't know if the people in charge where just slow to open the gate. Most places you should be able to visit by mid May to early June, I would think.

Wow, Coldtaco, them are some achingly gorgeous pictures.

These things are really handy, sure a great upgrade in cold climates, worth every penny!
Monitor the exhaust closely. I had the exhaust freeze over with frozen mud after it had worked all day in
Inuvik I drove late into the night. Forgot to check it and mud got solid as a rock, kinda buggered my
Webasto. I have it behind the front fender and still haven't figured how to deflect the mud away.

Looked for a couple of install pics. My webasto I mounted right to the firewall to the left of the heater.
I ran the exhaust down the inner fender with about 1/4" air gap from the firewall. Then using the inner fender
as a shield and attachment point I brought it right against the rocker at the base of the inner fender. In hindsight,
right in the splash zone but tucked up so as to avoid damage. My initial concern was exhaust under the truck.
Had I just cleaned it off when I parked it would not have been an issue. This is mine and thought it would clarify
why mine blocked up. I'm going to go with a metal deflector, and or possibly an extension out of the splash zone.

I don't see the big deal. That Ute was already set up to handle the harsh Georgia Winters. :)
