Since you have tested both pass and driver sides, which side do you think offers the best visibility?

I built mine for the passenger side. I did not want it to swing into traffic if I was on the side of the road. It looks like Josh spent a lot of time in r&d. It appears to be a really nice add on.

The optimum location that we found would be centered over the rear OEM bumper, but our design has its limitations, so we are offering our customer's a choice as to which side they would prefer.

Any chance of buying one with a basic arm with no tire carrier welded on? I have a factory tire swing-out on one side, but I'd consider something like this to hold a couple of gas cans on the other side.

Douglas care to share some pics and info on the factory swing out? I have never seen one. I actually have been eying some other makers swing outs to see if I could adapt it to a 80.

Josh,

You have a timeline on releasing the cost info?

Thanks,
James

As Josh states in his initial post, the carrier is designed to accommodate a 35" tire.

be able to hold a 37 ?

a question on tire size

This is one great looking and practical carrier I had my eyes on just waiting for it to finally come on the market.:clap::clap:

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm a bit slow on the US standard for tires - I have All Terrain Nitto Terra Grabbers 285/75 R16 and I measured from the ground up to the top of tire = 32 inches would this be considered 32 then???

Are you able to make a carrier to fit this rather than the tall one (35) to give me better rear view sight.
Thanks
Frank

I believe it accommodates everything up to a 35" tire so you should be ok.

285/75/16 is technically a 32" tire so yes your correct. I know my brand new duratracs measure 32" as well.

Thanks for the clarification gtfour43. Hope it doesn't take too long for this to be available.

The carrier is adjustable for width and accommodates tires sized up to and including 35" tires.

Once pricing is finalized the carrier will be available through the AJIK webstore. Estimating mid to late August for availability.

A few more pictures to highlight the AJIK prototype carrier. Final production model will differ slightly.
