Very cool, some day need new dash, right now mechanical stuff..................

Barring any drastic emergencies I should have the lower dash pad tools completed by middle of next week and I'm hoping we could run production on some. I know I've lied to you time and time again about getting this done......but I'm tired of stepping over the tools and moving them back and forth. I've got a couple to three days I can actually spend on the shop floor.

By the way all upper dash pads for the month of December will be 15% off. Shameless plug there.
Sweet, glad to hear the progress on the lower pads! Looking forward to being able to order the lower dash pads to match my upper FJ40dash.com pad I installed back in March. :)

The lower Dash Pad tools are finished!!!

I finished the tools for the lower dash pads this morning!! WOO WOO!! Well...........I have to go back and solder some coolant lines on the right pad tool and a little touch up on the left pad tool but we ran parts on them today and they looked good!!!

Now the bad news......It's been so long since I started this project I can't find the metal inserts for the pads. I've only found enough to run maybe a dozen at best.

Still haven't determined what I have to have for a set yet. I have a call in to one of my metal suppliers to get an order going for the inserts that I can't find. Darn near $30 for the metal just for the 3 pads!! If I were ordering say 10,000 at a time I'm sure the price would be a lot cheaper.

Hoping to have them online for sale by next week maybe even this weekend......We'll see how that goes but there is a good chance.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

No.......just don think there is enough market out there to justify the tooling. However, I am thinking about jeep dashes.

Another idea i have is fender flares out of Dicyclopentadiene for both landcruisers and jeeps. We presently manufacture several products out of this chemistry where we have actually driven over the finished product with a forklift and it bounces back to shape. This stuff has a heck of an impact resistance down to negative 40 degrees faranheit. I thought fender flares would be a good application.

Just in time for Christmas! Order placed & funds sent........so I'm in, and my lower pads will soon match the upper that was installed earlier this year.

Great Product!

fjgoober, do those lower dash pads fit all years of fj40? mines an 81. I think they are all alike. Let me know and I'll run over to your website and grab a set for myself for Xmas.

They fit fj40's 9/72-10/82 and the other landcruisers that have the same lower dash.

That would be bj40.

On the upper dash, I'm not sure what the interior looks like on these FJ43 FJ45 BJ42 HJ45/47 J4 but I've been told that the upper dash should fit as the interior is supposed to be the same. I don't know that for sure maybe someone else can chime in.

I'm working on an upper dash to sell on ebay international. I'm hoping I can set it up to ship to eBay's warehouse and then they bundle up a bunch of stuff to ship internationally.

Still learning on this though.

For you International guys I may have a solution. (Other than Canada & Mexico which is cheaper to go through our website)

Some of you guys have asked in the past so I thought I would keep working on the international shipping.

Every time I've tried to ship internationally I've had a problem shipping due to the length. Previously if I were to ship to Australia from the USA I couldn't get it through because it was longer than 48". The few countries I could get past the length, the cost was almost $500 to ship a dash!!!! Yeah that's realistic.

I think I've found away to get around this by selling/shipping on ebay utilizing their Global Shipping Program. It's listed as a "FJ40 Dash Pad International Sales Only". I've put 4 of them on there. I just checked it to ship to Sydney Australia and the cost was $67.64 with no import charges. I set it up is I ship it to their facility in Tennessee and they then ship it to Australia for a lot lower cost than what it would cost me to ship any other way.

Downside.......
if you ordered today You won't receive until Dec 30-Jan 7.
Price: ebay rapes me when you sell on their website so I have to charge more.

sweet jesus. i thought i would never get the complete set in non-torn condition. thank you so much goober. buying a set now!

Carreta,

Sorry but I don't believe there is enough volume to justify the tooling. I looked at the difference in the lower dash pads. It seems the Left lower dash pad is the same, there is no lower center pad, and the right lower pad looks to terminate in length about the edge of the glove box??? Is that right.

You did get me to looking at the upper dash pad. I looked at the listing I have. It's for 9/72-10/82 but what little research I've done this morning, I'm thinking that will work up until 1984. I've not seen a 1983 or '84 forty but it appears that they are the same dash.

I'll keep looking at it. I know they modified the dash in 83 with the introduction of a clock but I am unsure what the difference is in the dash pad.

If someone who knows wants to chime in please do.

Thanks in advance.
