Vae Victus,

Thanks for the compliment. I have yet to have someone come back and tell me they were unhappy with our dash. We're pretty happy with it.

Boys and Girls,

I'm getting close on the lower dashes and might have some time this weekend to work on them.

I made a comment to my wife this morning that I was thinking of either working on the lower dash pad tooling or going home later in the morning and working on the bathroom remodel. She said "Well those Landcruiser boys can wait!! We need that other bathroom back in!!" She's been pretty patient with me on the remodel as that bathroom has been out of service for two months!:doh:

I vote Port-a-Potty ,and Lower Dash Pad Production. Everybody Happy.

People in third world countries don't have indoor plumbing, but they do have land cruisers, probably with lower dash pads, and they get by. The decision is obvious.

Or go at it from a financial standpoint: if you get a bunch of lower dash pads out the door, you could install that gold plated toilet with a heated seat she didn't know she wanted...

Or you could afford one of these bad boys - it will literally wash your, uh, lower dash pads for you.

See, fjgoober - Lower dash pads ARE a priority :D

I am terrified of the fact that the toilet above exists.

And now, Back to dash pads.

I have a confession.

I haven't done anything this morning, no work on tooling no work on bathroom.

It's a sad tale of a crack addict!

I got back on mud reading Sea Knight's Saving the old Rust Bucket. That thread should probably be taken off until after 5pm.

I did like the brilliant ideas you guys came up with regarding the bathroom vs. tool. I shared them with the wife at lunch. Probably not the best idea I've had in a while:doh:

Let's just say she was expecting the tub installed by noon. This morning some idiot promised a production/goal timeline:bang:

Where is our production goal/timeline? :p

Totally kidding. Good luck with the bathroom! Thanks for all your hard work on this so far.

What will be the tentative asking price for the lower dash pad set? Will there be a combo price for the entire set including the main dash pad?

Got the Right Lower Dash Pad Tool Done!!

I figured out what was going on with the location of the attachment points. Long boring story but suffice to say I will probably not be using that casting company again.

Should have the other two tools done tomorrow. I am planning on spending the whole day working on just fj40 stuff. That is if I don't have a bunch of dragons to slay tomorrow.

I should mention the bathroom is not done either. (This has caused the wife to exercise her patience but I've been real busy with other projects.)

I'm hoping to have them on the web-site by next week. Thanks to the guys sending PM's, posts and e-mails as that is only reason this :censor: project is getting finished. In the evenings it would be real easy to set it aside and wrench on the 40.

Now the confession........I will probably start doing Jeep Dashes next. We went to the Big Meat Run down in Disney Oklahoma in March. I saw 3 other fj40's but there were thousands of jeeps!

It's SCOTCH 30:beer::beer:

A man's gotta make a livin'. Sometimes we do things we don't want to do to put bread on the table.

so will your dash pad fit the 69' FJ40?

Since you are thinking of making these in possible mass production let me give you another idea many land rover series III an earlier defenders owners are having lots of problems with their lower dash they rot away and the upper ones people desire the late style which has vents on top of gauges for driver ventilation an no one so far is making these. If you like hit me up so I can send pixof what Im talking about.

Got my upper dash pad two days ago - love it, thank you. Excited to read about the new lowers.

The upper dash pad will fit. The only difference is that the later models had a dash light in them. We've had lot's of customers buy them for the older 40's. Several of them were pretty excited as they installed a dash light. You might check out the web-site as I give a better explanation there.

I know there is a difference on the lower pads. The right hand lower dash pad is longer. Several guys have requested this pad in particular as they want to cover up botched PO fantastic modifications!

There might be some other differences but it's been too long ago since I compared them. I know there is a real good explanation on TLCA of the changes in the 40 throughout the years.

Eventually I will manufacture these earlier lower dash pads as well.

I might hit you up on that later.
