Inchworm dual case adapter is now made in house by marlin crawler.
When did they acquire inchworm? from trail gear?
And is the cnc machined billet (stronger) clockable inchworm adapter worth 1000$ plus shipping compared to AdvanceAdapter cast heat treated (356-T6) Tx2 at 405$ shipped.

Big price difference, I have a hard time forking over that much more hard earned $ I know you get what you pay for generally, but both products have recent upgrades (2025) so are we comparing apples to apples, or is the clockable rear transfer case from inchworm the true advantage- IF you use that feature!

If you don’t clock it to gain underbelly clearance, is the inchworm/marlin worth the extra 600$ plus if you’re on a budget build.

The price of dual TC adapters has gotten out of control. I would agree that the price premium of a Marlin label is not worth it. If I was going to do this again I would install the AA. It's a tried and true adapter.

I think im with you Pappy! I got the marlin 4.7 gears for sure, but if I’m NOT gonna clock the Tcase I’d rather buy Front Range twin sticks and dual cross member/skid plate for that extra 600 plus! Gotta pic and choose where $ goes. Now we need 1.99 fuel again!

Both AA and inchworm/marlin are made in USA, the question is are the bearings US, Jap, or still Chinese?

Marlin is out of stock also!

skip the front range sticks and get the rad designs.

I bought my Marlins MC08 back in 2016 for $561. There’s no way I’d pay 1k for one now. I’d get the AA adapter and replace the bearings and be done.

I have no issue with Marlin but they’ve moved on from the mini trucks being their main product imo.

while I can't really blame them for expanding, it's a slap in the face for the people that "made" the business what it is. little mike is not marlin, by any means.
as much hate as he spewed for tq, you'd think he'd be doing everything to complete and sink them. never having stock essentially sends endless customers across the street :bang:

I believe this is the bearing (x2) that I replaced the Chinese bearings with. They are also available from Koyo. 6209-2NSE/RS/2RS Nachi 6209RS Bearing Made in Japan | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/130377112829

Double check before you order this. It's been many years but, I did save it in my eBay watch list so I'm pretty sure it's correct.

Note; I looked at the website and the parts list. It shows 209RS as the bearing but you can clearly see 6209RS on a pic of the bearing.
Thanks! I have contacted AA to confirm.

Thanks for the input! My thoughts as well!
I’m a lot late into the crawler scene but have always wanted to build one! Just don’t wanna go broke in the process. R.I.P. MARLIN!

This ^ Exactly why I started searching elsewhere for the adapter!

Got a reply about AA TX2 bearings.

You can see the lack of quality attention to detail leaves something to be desired. The first is 2 Chinese enduro bearings, I will replace with Japanese Nachi bearings I got from an eBay industrial warehouse supply, 2 for 55$

Second is rough casting and machining surface. The price was right thou, I hope it lasts as long as @aztoyman’s does in his awesome Rig!

Definitely not as pretty as the Marlin or even the TG adapters. I was underwhelmed when I first saw mine. Pretty sure I got it on sale for under $200 back then so I wasn't going to complain too much. So far so good in my truck.

It seems a lot of the failure complaints of any brand was the coupler splines shearing so I packed mine with ???? Something, Grease, anti-seize, assembly lube?? I wish I could remember.

Been running one of these since 2018 with zero problems. Been running the AA v6 adapter since 2016 and it was used when I got it.
