I am planing on taking my 7-75 pig back to stock (sorta). I have gotten manifolds, carb and most other issues resolved, but the accelorator linkage is a problem. I need the linkages from the pedal on...firewall bracket to the Carb and I have no idea what will work with respect to production dates. I am assuming I will have to make up the linkages from another year model. My only source of info currently is the pages of SOR which breaks the linkages into multiple production years. For example the torque rod bracket 9/75 to 10/76, the accl rod leaving the bracket 9/73 to 9/75 and the next 1/75 to 9/75 etc....

It's a bit wack anyway as I am using 78 carb and 77 manifolds etc...but the linkage needs to be a little more precise I think. You get the idea.

Anyone have an idea what will work together?

Then again...anyone have said linkage?

I can alway get you measurements and pics.

That might be handy. Still it is finding the parts as well. As I PM'd someone earlier, I am still a year or two later whining about the PO telling me he tossed the orig. carb 2 months before I bought it while he was cleaning out his garage...he desmogged the year he bought the cruiser. He did still have the dome light and side mirrors boxed...guess that was something:confused::crybaby:

just went to your link...lot of pics not pulling up but I enjoyed that. That guy would have charged you more if he knew his stash was in it :-) I bought a 7/70 parts pig like that...syringes, rock-n-roll stickers and a caved in roof from likely party night star gazing? After the syringe I became more circumspect on my part rooting.

That right there is your best bet Eric. I am putting an aisin carb back in mine, but leaving the headers alone for now. But as a result, I also have to rebuild the linkage. Mine is a 73 so different linkage (mine is a cable), but my best source od info was to pick through SOR, the factory repair manual, and post up the parts that I needed. I think I got everything except a little spring that I can source from somewhere else.

:-) Tks. Mine is on it's second volkswagon cable from the the pedal to the rochester...kinda fun when you come out of a curve in traffic and you suddenly have no acceleration because the cable snapped. Think I have a benafactor for the linkage.

Howdy! I used an OEM cable setup, modified to fit my Rochester duece on the 350 I transplanted. The cable was really small and I snapped it several times. It probably doesn't help that I run a monster throttle return spring to help avoid mashing it on the bumps. I took the cable sleeve down to Ace Hardware, and retro fit the largest cable that would slide freely. 20X stronger. I built a spare while I was at it. Maybe $10 for the whole deal. P.S.: Haven't used the spare in over 10 years, yet!! John
