Coming in from Arkansas....that whole highway was a white knuckler...and yes it was HIH3 so it was from Silverton to Ouray. It took me several days to pry my seat out after we drove to the top of Pikes Peak that year as well!
Now I understand why you were so excited to take a break and stop at the scenic overlook between Durango and Silverton when we were caravaning.

Yeah...the seats in the LX are comfortable as long as they aren't inside you!

Summit Auto Transport will be sponsoring a cigar smoke during Nitro's ladies wine night on Thursday. Make sure to sign up for the event once the calendar comes out so I know how many cigars to bring. Ladies are welcome if they want to skip Carl's foofoo wine night and puff a stogie with the boys.

This is NOT FAKE NEWS. Thanks to @Riverrunner and @justdifferentials (Nitro) for sponsoring such cool stuff for the HIH9 participants.

Forgot to add, other sponsors will be sponsoring cool stuff, @nakman (Gamiviti) and more to come......like YotaMD and Bump It Offroad.....(they just keep on rolling in).

I'm in for sure...I'll bring you something to sip on as a thank you for all the help over the years moving vehicles around for all of us!

It is and always will be my pleasure. I'm happy to sip on whatever you bring. Thanks for the support.

I’m hoping to snag a summit auto transport coozie at the event this year!

Kind of disappointed I don’t have one already!!!

Thanks again to all the sponsors, awesome bunch of folks to not only do business with, but also to hang out and share a chat and beer with around the campfire.

Ben,
I think you have earned way more than a coozie! I'll see what I can scrape up for you for being a frequent flyer.

TODAYS HIH9 FUN FACT: The typical 50% first timer/ 50% returning attendee split has trended differently this year. This year it is 34% first timer/66% returning. Another crazy stat is that 29% have been to 3 or more HIH events.

@paflytyer and I are always blown away that so many will use their valuable time off to come hang out in the Hills with us, each year! Thank you!

@bluecruiser do y’all have a breakdown of attendance numbers by state? I know you posted the map in an earlier post but it would be interesting to see the actual number by state. I’d like to know where Georgia ranks this year. I think we had 3 last year when it was posted.

@ga12r1 you planning to support your claim to the Pimento Cheese King throne this year at HIH9? I left Charleston 3 years ago and haven't found the good stuff in Denver yet.

Most definitely. I’ve got a few experimental ideas I’m going to try before we get out there. A little twist on the traditional :p

Here you go. This was the state selected by the Driver during registration, rather than the state of the IP address like the map showed.

Thanks Chris!

Dang, only 2 from Georgia this time. I was hoping for more of a showing. I guess it’s only me and @abuck99 . Too bad @sammybones couldn’t make it this year, he will be missed.

Can't wait to see if/what kind of glassware @nakman will bring this year! I need to complete a set!
