Good write up! I was even cheaper and bought the HF red "Bauer" drill for mine lol. Works great

It's a Dissent Offroad rack by @benc

I got in on a group buy discount thing over the holidays. The install is a wee bit fiddly but the rack is the nicest I have seen.

Regarding the fasteners how do you tighten them? How do I get insight the fender well? As the OP stated, there are no instructions whatsoever and i do not want to mess this installation up.

You'll need some fender liner push clips first. You'll remove the fender liner to access everything. Those pesky push clips tend to break. Get replacements off Amazon for super cheap.

I had this same deal on my fj80, great quality, great fitment. paying 400 for molded plastic is silly. great job,

Sorry to bother, but do you have the link to those clips sold on Amazon?

You can also get generic trim plugs at the local auto parts store for like $4. That's what I used. Broke about half getting them out.

As far as tightening, I think it's a 13mm nut with a nyloc insert, so "snug" would be the correct torque for those.

Important Clarification:
Just installed this exact snorkel today....the 5 holes are definitely 3/8" not 1/2...the OP said 1/2....then later said 3/8....use 3/8 drill bit. Another idea is to match the template to the studs prior to marking the holes on the fender. Like the OP I also had one hole that was slightly off...if you match to the template first you can make that one adjustment. Btw I think it looks great and is a great buy!

I will try to measure mine over the weekend. Now that I have installed the snorkel I realize the air intake was not under the hood. It was pulling air from the space behind the plastic fender liner. Driving slow down a dusty road this was the worst location possible as the front passenger wheel is constantly kicking up dust. I may not need the topspin filter.
