Ha. If you had to deal with this particular family friend on this ordeal you'd see that this was far from a deal if you count mental turmoil.

Oh, I never count that. Mental Turmoil is like the dietary sodium of being an adult; you always get more than enough of it, even when you're not trying.

Finished up the lift over the weekend. Happy with the Dobinson stuff. IMS shocks are nice! Ride is so much better without the flat stock springs and the long extended shackles. Gained 2" of lift but expect that to settle some. Happy with how it sits.

Adjusted the LSPV yesterday and have great braking. Waiting for it to settle to see if it needs more/less.

Looks good! How did you adjust the LSPV if you don't mind me asking? I need to do this, as my braking is less than desirable.

Guyute,

Working on installing some new black corner lamp assemblies on my HZJ73. I can see the three bolts that need to be undone to pull the lamp assembly off the side. Any tricks on getting the bolts off, or just a struggle as it looks to get a wrench on there (especially the back one looks tough). I ordered an extra long ratcheting wrench 8mm off amazon with the hope that it helps but still looks pretty tight. I also loosened all the bolts to the windshield washer container to move it around but it doesn't move far before it either runs out of leash on what comes out the bottom of it, or hits something next to it.

Definitely moved the washer fluid bottle. Then remember just getting them started with an open end wrench and hand spinning them off from there. Awkward but doable.

Few super minor things done-did on the 73 last weekend. Sound deadened the rear doors with more Second Skin Damplifier Pro. The doors close with a thud instead of a twang now. Working my way around the rig as time allows. Good to see rust free inner door skins.

Escape Gear rear tire cover showed up. So well made! Love their stuffs. Not enough to have their logo blasted on the product... but still. Much love.

On the hunt for some rear doors to chop down. Lost the rear door speakers so will add something in front of my drawers for summer. Rolling without a license plate light for now too. Oh. Way more diesel fumes circulating than I thought. No regerts. Wish I had hair.

Nice. You gonna replace the top seals and stuff while you have it off?

Also, don't worry: I get tons of diesel flowing in through the rear windows...so taking the top off didn't make it worse. Wish I had hair, too. Nice dog. Bonzo approves. 👍

Yup. Have had all new seals in my stash since last year.
@Guyute ... In what shape were the FRP top seals in? Would you have been able to reuse them if you needed to put the FRP top back on?

I need to do some gelcote repairs to my FRP top. It would be easier to work on it on the ground, as well as not having to worry about damaging anything non-top related. I want to know if I need to order the seals or, can I get away with taking the top off, doing the repair, and putting it back on. My parts list for seals are:
  • 63163-90K01 * 2
    • Left/Right over doors
  • 63151-90K02
    • Windscreen top
  • 63161-90K01
    • Full Roof
Do you have the same?

Compressed but decent shape. I'd think they'd be good to reuse but haven't pulled them from the top yet. I had noticed that some of my seals bleed black and on the white rig it's pretty noticeable. No leaks. The sliders and windshield gaskets/seals are my worse case.

63161-90K01 for sure. I'll have to check on the others. Was doing mad orders last year when rebuilding the 1HZ in the other rig. So I was hiding happy little Stedman boxes from the wife hand-over-fist.

Thanks for looking. I'll probably just add the seals to my next big Megazip order, regardless. It's good to know I can probably reuse what I have in case I have difficulties in procuring them.

Additionally had 65887-90K00 - WEATHERSTRIP, COVER TOP SIDE, LH and 65886-90K00 - WEATHERSTRIP, COVER TOP SIDE, RH on my order.

That may have been a superseded part for the two you list (– 63163-90K01) as I don't see those on my invoice. Or I'm missing 'em. ??

This was just email research and like I said... it was Too Fast; Too Furious on the part ordering last year. I can physically dig them out this weekend. I should confirm I have it all anyway.
