94 4x4 dlx truck, I have read a ton of posts here.
I am going to install a rear elocker, and figured I might as well re-gear while I am at it.
I was planning on buying an e-locker from a 96+ 4runner w/4:56 gears
and I was planning on getting a 4:56 stock front IFS from a 93-95 since I think that is the only one that will fit my truck correctly.

am I missing anything, or should that work fine on my truck?

It will work fine just keep in mind that it isnt a direct bolt in, the rear axle hosung need a bit of cutting, tapping, welding to make the elocker fit.

Then you also have to wire up a switch which is kind of a dog, I recommend going to inchworm and getting there kit (They also sell brand new e-locker 3rds in many gear ratios)

Keep in mind that your 1996-newer e-locker rear end does not use 1996-newer gears (too many make that mistake) The newer e-locker rear end uses the 1995-older 8" V6 gear sets.
Also, if you dont want the expense of the e-locker electronics (or the poo-poo way those electronics make the e-locker work), then PM me about a cable locker conversion for the e-locker!!! I still have one or two left.

I'll take my poo-poo electronics over a cable locker any day.

What exactly are you saying?
that I will have to pull the ring an pinon from my 1994 non elocking third and install them into the 96+ elocking third?

from everything I had read, I just cut out the third hole a little for gear and fork clearance and installed the complete E-locker third into my axle and it drops right in.

What he means is that the e-locker third is a 8" ring-pinion setup is all. I think he missed the fact that you're getting one with the gearing you want. Just keep in mind if you ever swap ring and pinions later...

They're still the same size.

As for the electronics, yeah, the factory stuff leaves a little to be desired, but like KLF posted, you can always build the relay box with better parts.
