Oh no, time to mount the oil filter. But that black was so boring and typical! Heres my logic for punishing this georgous 3fe motor.....

extra purple paint = extra purple stuff. Woohoooo :flipoff2:

So, you saying I'm a flamer? (Not that there's anything wrong with that!) Actually, I showed the pic to my 14 yr old daughter and she said "ya so basicly that is the most intense thing ive ever seen. peace G." (She typed that.) Maybe Mr T would sell more Cruisers if they paid attention to what consumers really want...
 
Ok well I have gotten a lot of work in lately. Stayed late thursday, friday, and even came in for a few hours on sunday! The manifolds are on, throttle body is on, all pulleys, belts, fan, fuel rail with new injectors, and a bunch of other things I probably forgot about! I ran out of paint, so only the p/s pump pulley is purple, I wanted to do the air pump, but I would rather get the rig going than paint everything purple.

Any tips for installing the EGR tube? I normally do it with the upper manifold off.
 
is this some sort of disguised ad campaign for MAF?
"buy stuff mail order from us and it may come in purple..."

(oh, btw, you're sure you can still slip that sucker in all decked out, right? or you gonna have to take it all apart again...? :D

Hey Andrew, yeah I put it on before I put the upper half of the intake on. My only tip would be, dont over tighten the 4 plug nuts! Two of the little tubes twisted from me doing this, everything looks ok though.

e9999, well I will be putting it in as is, after I put the tranny on, slap that whole thing in there. I will have to take some of it apart again to re-adjust the valves and re-torque the head bolts, but that is standard procedure. Trust me, no ad campaign here, I am pretty sure this will be the first and last purple anything that comes out of MAF. Of course we have done wierder things though, anything a customer wants done in the shop we can do.

sorry Steve, back here at home everyone calls each other names in a joking way. My wife had my kids referring to me as the dink, so in retaliation, I had them screaming "the beast is coming the beast is coming" as they frantically ran around the house looking for a place to hide, everytime she came home.

granted, some of our friends don't know what to make of it sometimes.

I meant the exhaust manifold to the EGR tube, but the air injection rail can be a challenge as well. I just remember the EGR tube being a major PITA (especially when the motor is in the car), and I noticed that you had the upper manifold on already. So if you know any tricks......... Also, you going to make it to the Surf & Turf?

Ok, I wasnt really certian, but I didnt think the egr tube was difficult to put on with the upper manifold on (I think you have to even). Although........you have headers dont you, I went with the stock manifolds. I was going to put headers on, but we were out of stock. The factory egr tube is supposed to be flexible, but you know as well as I do that it is not. To be honest, I'm not sure about surf & turf. My cruiser is in AZ at the 4+ shop, and I dont know if my girlfriend is down to go or not in her rig. We'll see... :cheers:

No worries buddy, unfortunately you cant read emotions or know when someone is joking unless they say so. I thought we were freinds too, so when I thought you were serious, I was offended. No hard feelings you big dink! :cheers:

Looks like you are doing a Sethro job there, everything is getting done right ! purple is not that bad, beets the boring stock stuff. You got to keep the Lady happy, you are learning very soon young jeti.
