Yeah, Eventbrite does that. I’m sure I could have figured out how to remove that wording but didn’t. In this case it gets the job done

I didn’t expect pushback, at least this early, on our pricing structure for this event but heard from one person none the less.
A little history……
In the previous 7 years of this event we have relied on a few generous donors as well as significant contributions from the event’s organizers to cover cost. (It became clear that this was not a viable business model going forward).
Much like everyone else, the organizers and volunteers are covering their own expenses including travel cost, park fees and lodging. (Not one penny from the event goes to cover these expenses).
Our direct cost (liability insurance, food, advertising etc.) probably could have been covered at a much lower ticket price but I don’t see the point of having a charity event where you don’t raise money for the charity.
I guess the end result will determine if we made a good decision.

Though I'm unable to join, in my view the cost is entirely acceptable! There's no such thing as a free lunch... (or dinner).

We’re hoping to have at least 1 example of every model of 70 Series that’s currently in the U.S. attend this year.
Seems odd anyone would complain of the cost when it includes 3 dinners. Most folks would spend far more than that in fuel just getting there.

We won’t have a complete breakdown of cost until the event is over but I’m hoping that no less than 60%-70% of the ticket price will be directed towards the charity. There are a lot of moving parts to any event but we’ve got a good group of volunteers working on this one.

Even if you chose to sleep in and not ride a single trail, that evening you’ll have the opportunity to tell everyone that you went out on your own and rode a trail labeled “certain death”. No one will be the wiser.

Although it’s not required to attend or participate in this event, GMRS will be the comms of choice for the weekend.
