I would recommend a 4l60 or 6l80. Fitment in a 62, and 1st gear ratio, are a lot better with both.

If you take the time now to refresh everything under the hood. You will thank yourself every time you pop the hood. A little Lizard Skin on the fire wall goes a long way against heat and sound.
