Hi you all,

I am planning to put a GM 5.3L with 4l80e attached and Toyota transfer into a FJ40 '84
The above is already assembled with all necessary adapters and mods.
Engine and tranny will be controlled by reprogrammed GM ECU.
My question is will my original under body fuel tank still fit?
Does anyone has done this combo before in a FJ40?

Many, Many, Many run my rear tank as their one-and-only tank. It is perfectly set up for the fuel injected engines with return lines, and with my optional in-tank fuel pump mounting kit.

if your longer drive train extends past the tube crossmember behind the stock transfercase location your under floor tank wouldn't be likely to fit anymore

I have that exact combo in my FJ40, though my '72 does not have the gas tank issue you have with your '84. My rear axle is on 60 springs and is about 5 inches further back than stock and my rear drive shaft is 18 1/2 inches long. Your rear drive line will be SHORT.

Oh, shoving the axle back means you CAN NOT use an auxiliary gas tank
