This is going to be worse than the FJC, isn't it?

Not necessarily. Doing the hydro assist ports is an easy thing to do and allows for future growth of your pink panty mobile as you start to wheel it harder. It's actually cheaper in the long run than one would think.

9.75x1.5????

If running 37s, what's the ideal up/down travel to maintain as low a COG as possible, and still keep coils from falling out?

Since progressives aren't an option, and COs seem a future phase with 3/4 link, the best I can tell 12" travel is the maximum, considering the 14" travel isn't usable.

4 & 8"? Will that mean beating the bumps to death?

You will have to measure the range of motion of your tie rod to determine which lenght of ram you need. 1.5" will have a quicker reaction for steering but I would go with 1.75" which is what I have on my fj40

Gotcha. Should have the PS components ordered tomorrow, then will remove the gearbox and send off for rebuild to include porting. Measure from there, and countless, mind numbing, eye ball bleeding hours of thread perusals for the assist.

More goodies.

Rebuilding axle to coincide with installation, and replacing axle shafts and birfs.

PS order tomorrow, hopefully brakes soon. Trying to find the threads concerning 100 series system swaps, and read until my eyes bleed to determine viability.

I've officially lost it, and prepared to stop short of nothing but pulling the body off. Can't seem to create the time to even prepare for body work, so this may be a fall finish.

Ain't this fun?

If you do decide to put on hydro assist you'll need to upgrade your steering studs to a grade 10 stud, otherwise you'll sheer them off. Lucky for you, there is a place where you can spend more money on upgrading your steering!

Front Range Off-Road Fabrication

Can I help spend your money too?

Wow... so much for minimal. Did you confuse Hydro with the Endo that Snoops been smokin?? :D

Just kiddin.:flipoff2:

Trying to figure out where to put the 16 switches, now.

Hell yes! bag that dope ride and run a cantilever rear end- draggin all the way down the road with sparks flyin'

Just went through your whole build thread. I love the honesty of folks when it comes to selling their cars...

Those issues you have with the seats are easily repaired. I did that at in a former life. Or just get some seat covers- ones with Tinker Bell...;)

Got any recent pics yet?

A bunch of pics of crap to order, is all. Haven't completed anything except parts hoarding.

Have a brown swatch coming from Shane to check color consistency with existing interior "brown". If it works, going to recover the first and second row seats and door panels with (selling third row. You should put in the back of yours).

Since deleting the sunroof, had an epiphany to raise the front headliner area that is lowered to conceal sunroof. Put an overhead console in, and color match the new (headliner is now showing signs of more leaking than I initially saw. The roof rack leaks, too, so doing something, anyway) headliner and all other tan interior to the "brown".

Leather headliner? Maybe a couple of mirrors and dingo balls to top it off?

I'm heterosexual, so I know no other way to describe color than "brown", but it's not as bad as you think.

You know I couldn't go about this the easy way.

Congrats on the acquisition Chris! I've been off of the forums lately and was pleasantly surprised to see you found/bought an LX. Super jelly my man, look forward to its progress.

I thought Trash Heap had got you, Rob. Sure hoping you weren't a guest of the state ran, involuntary resort! Good to hear from you, nonetheless.

It's a little different process than the FJC, or that I'd planned for, considering I'm afflicted with the "if doing this, then why not do this while I'm there" disease, so, odds are, it'll be a frame off cluster, at the rate I'm going. Hahaha.

I can provide you a long list of part numbers and prices for most the 80, though, but not until AFTER you get one, and are addicted. Hahahaha.

Hope all's well in SoCal.
