It was an exhaust gasket glued together for a pattern then converted to a digital file for a CNC laser

Not a stupid question at all. It is like Dogfishlake said. The two individual intake manifold gaskets taped together and then scanned into a CNC laser machine to cut the exact shape of the gaskets in 1/2" steel.

The reason I am doing this is: I did a J-pipe with my current truck and while I think it is an outstanding solution, this turbo is much bigger so I wanted to free up some room. The path I want to take with the exhaust and the turbo outlet will work better with a one off customer turbo header, and really there is some bling factor to a badass tig welded, stainless turbo header with a CNC'd collector and stainless Tial turbine housing.

Haha and we all know I am all about the bling :flipoff2:

possibly a stupid question... but did that flange get cut off a head? is it just too have a perfect start for the exhaust?

By the way, that's not even close to fastest supra any more

Haha, not sure about rocks but this build is the put your money where your mouth is build for sure! I keep telling people not to motor swap. The 1FZ can and will run circles around your LS motors, so I guess we will really find out. ;)

Haha these are some serious chunks of metal! This is going to be a massive manifold! I do not envy Marc at all for trying to figure out how to do the equal length setup so that each runner makes it to the collector!!

Getting each cylinder to the inlet won't be bad but getting them there at equal length will be tricky

Yeah it is kind of WTF, but if you don't do it exactly equal length you have exhaust pulses that are hitting each other and canceling each other out instead of spooling the turbo. If it is all the exact same length, each pulse's energy goes right down the runner and into the turbine.

whiskey tango foxtrot. this is other level for me
