Thanks guys! The first shipment of stuff is over in tumbling. In about and hour I'm picking up the rest for tumbling.

But think how great that day's going to be...especially since you got all the glitches worked on those LC models.

I just want the key chain.

(Ok, I do want a scout model)

100% of my metal order has been fulfilled and the rest is going to tumbling in the morning!!!!! Holy crap has it been a long haul up to this point!

Oh here is the rest of my Scout LockBox order. These are laser cut and already formed and off to tumbling.

it feels like it was just yesterday i was yanking stuff out of my truck...its been what 3 days? haha...thanks joey!

Everything is at tumbling and should be ready late tonight/early tomorrow to pick up and start spot-welding. I now have the following items ready to go and will be getting powder coated in a few days:

• Locking Lid for the FEM (consists of the lid, lock plate, cam plate, the hinge and hinge bracket)
• 80 Series LockBox Mini (short; consists of the box, the hinge, the lid and the cam plate)
• 80 Series LockBox Scout (tall; consists of the box, the hinge, the lid and the cam plate)

Everything is going to be powder coated in the same black as the Fire Extinguisher Mounts. Right now I'm just trying to decide on the cam plates. Should I do them Cad plated or Chrome? :hmm:

I thought we got to choose color for powder coating?

Just kiddin.

I just got the invoice for the tall (Scout) lockboxes. The metal shop charged me a prototype rate instead of hourly shop rate since there was some programming time and some fine tuning time needed for the box and the lid. So just for this batch I will just spread out the cost over the number of units I got then adjust later if there is enough demand to do a second run.

You can find the updated link here for the Scout:
Wits' End Lock Box-Scout, 80 Series (93'-97')

Basically its an extra $25 per unit for the taller version. Sorry guys, I was hoping to keep it closer to the original price. :(

The new pics will be put up once they are back from powder coating. I will also make an option for Combo lock vs Medeco lock for those that drove me nuts about having the option :flipoff2:

Well crap, I might be overthinking this a bit but I put in the lockbox and I was playing around with the concealment liner. If someone wants to be ginger with it then it's not exactly easy to pull up unless you grab an edge. If you are in dire straits then just grab and throw it out of the way. So I started playing with adding a little tab to make it simple to remove. Before I throw this idea out I figured I'd get some feedback. It may defeat the purpose of having it concealed since it makes it a little more obvious.

If you put some crap on top of that you won't even see the tab.

Just include a single Velcro glove with each box.;)

Is it easy enough to just pinch the liner and pull it up? I guess after multiple pinches the liner may get a little deformed though...

The tab idea isn't bad, and as said earlier, I'm sure it'll hardly be noticeable. Maybe stitch the tab so it lays back down over the liner itself? That'd be less noticeable?

Tab would be nice, maybe half the height of the one in the pic? Just enough you can grab onto something. I think the tab in the front VS the back would conceal well enough. (like in the pic you posted)
