1. Does it need to be fire-resistant? If the truck is burning to the ground does it matter at that point?
Nope.
2. Does it need to be water-tite? I'm thinking/hoping no because it makes things infinitely easier.
Not at all.
3. Is a simple tumbler key adequate enough? Anything else and the price sky-rockets.
Prefer a key to any other option. Something like this seems superfluous: http://www.nokey.com/elbaprcacalo.html

Folks, give me some more time to get all of the info up and to also work out the Keyed-Alike options for the FEM-1 lids. But I wanted to at least get the page going so that you can at least see as much info as I can to you now which includes the standard price.
1. You CANNOT purchase or get into the GroupBuy yet. I will need to do a separate page for that I think in order to stay with the rules of MUD.
2. This link will get you to my shopping cart but the link to purchase or get into the GroupBuy will not be activated until tonight:

3. I will send out a newsletter and post up on the GroupBuy link the discount code for the GroupBuy. In order to be part of the GroupBuy AND get the free shipping

4. There will be an additional discount offered for anyone thinking about getting the Locking Lid with the FEM-1 Fire Extinguisher Mount. If you order at the same time then the locking lid and the LockBox will be KEYED-ALIKE
5. The LockBox retail price will be $135. The GroupBuy price will be $105. I should have the price for the Locking Lid set by tonight and will be able to post as well.
6. The GroupBuy timeline will affective from tonight until July 5th. After July 5th I place my final order for components and anyone ordering after this date will not be extended the discount because, well, I need to plan and if you vacillate I can't plan
7. Expected delivery for the 80 Series LockBox is July 27th. Be easy on me as that date *may* float a little bit. The date for the Locking Lid for the FEM-1 is looking to be about the same timing but I will know more very soon.
8. Like the Fire Extinguisher Mount, I will be detailing every part of the production so that you all get a front seat view to the action.
9. If only 5 of the 64 interested parties take part in the GroupBuy...I'm hosed

No, a lid for the Fire Extinguisher Mount. I have a pouch I'm working on and the hinged/locking lid I'm working on. Image is a super early test. I'm further along than that.
