Wow! That's a deal for that rig!

Any idea in how much front and second row manual cloth seats for an 80 would go for? I have some on the line but he doesn't know what he wants for them. I want to be fair but you know the deal...

I'll have to ask. I always used 200K as an over/under for an 80 HG (mine blew at 215K)...but I suppose age could be a factor.

I agree, except when it comes to the 80 HG. If I could afford another 80 (I can't) and could afford to do the HG as PM (I couldn't), I would do it.

There are enough cases on this forum of guys doing it as PM with great success to convince me. My 97 blew its HG in the HOOD in Dallas while my wife was alone and I was a long way off.

Toyota redesigned the 1FZ HG for a reason...and, while not necessarily a ticking time bomb, it is the only thing that would give me pause...again, if I could afford to do it, I certainly would.

Ignore the hecklers - ya did the right thing. Changed the HG on my '94 somewhere below 150K, probably closer to 125 and it's been happy since then - about 385 last i looked.

Appreciate it. To be clear, it's my cousin's 80 and he got it with the HG already done by the PO as PM. I figure that's $1200 he won't have to spend...ever.

$1200 is a deal. I've had to spend $700 for just the machine work/valve job on a 1fz before. That truck to this day is still the smoothest running 1fz I've ever come across.

Would love to find nice manual cloth seats, good brown carpet, nice headliner, sunroof trim, good door panels, LC console, would even take grey cloth seats cause I can recover

Manual seats are getting hard to find in any color, buy new carpet, recover existing headliner board with new material, sunroof trim gets brittle over the years/Buy new, what's wrong with your door panels?, use the LX console and make the "subwoofer" your speaker for a remote mounted CB or ham

Wouldn't have been cheaper just to get her off crack?
