One of my first wishbone
This one was very strong and did work but it didn't work so well. As you can see, the rod end seized when I flexed it too much...
Good thing was : totally bolt on :)

the idea was to use as many OEM parts as possible (mainly the brackets and bushings).
so the list is quite small :
1 OEM upper link
1 TG rod end

1 TG misalignment spacer

1 Ruffstuff horizontal wishbone bracket

tubing 42mm x 7mm
gussets
I had a beefy "tube adapter" machined by a local shop

Awesome! Keep the pictures coming!

Thanks for the pics! Question - I was under the impression you could ditch the panhard when the upper and lower links were triangulated. Will wishbone upper links alone control lateral movement enough that you no longer need a panhard?

Seen this same design on an Australian 80, that thing had ridiculous flex. The upper tiangulation should prevent side to side movement of the axle, eliminating the need for a panhard. I have been trying to figure out the best way to accomplish this setup myself.

Wishbone ran both ways no panhards

that's correct.
I just cut all panhard brackets. Also that means that your axle is always centered no matter the load you put in your rig

some pics of the build :
you can see how huge those tubes are :)
some gussets for strength

and now the brackets burned on the rear axle
just for more strentgh and for the look too, I will weld some gussets. I love those :)

this setup has worked perfectly so far. Here in France, the 80 are mostly used for rally and desert assistance. Good manners on and off road, no body roll. I have a 3" lift (king spring + radflo 2.5 / fox 2.0). This thing has seen some abuse :) you just have to make sure it is level at ride height, grind the chassis brackets a little bit to make room for the gussets and tje most important : the axis of the rod end must be vertical (to prevent lateral play and to provide max articulation)

As long as I don't have coil overs installed, I don't see why I should use all the extreme articulation it can provides as nothing will push the axle to the ground.

Nice work. Thanks for sharing!
